REVELATION -THE SCROLL OF 7 SEALS part 2

Words from Worship
Christmas Parade
last we we started into the opening of the scroll
SLIDE 1 “THE SEVEN SEALS OF REVELATION IMAGE SLIDE”
Remember the scene John saw at the Throne of God
John began to weep that no one found worthy to open the scroll
Up until now Revelation 1-5 had been about all John saw in heaven
Rev 6 and the opening of the scroll of 7 seals starts what takes place on earth
Remember God has been using all of His word to bring us really cool insight and more vivid picture as we go through Revelation chapter and verse
SLIDE 2
Revelation 6:1 (NLT)
1 As I watched, the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals on the scroll. Then I heard one of the four living beings say with a voice like thunder, “Come!”
SLIDE 3 “FOUR LIVING BEINGS AND THUNDER IMAGE SLIDE”
SLIDE 4
Revelation 6:2 (NLT)
2 I looked up and saw a white horse standing there. Its rider carried a bow, and a crown was placed on his head. He rode out to win many battles and gain the victory.
SLIDE 5 “RIDER ON WHITE HORSE IMAGE SLIDE”
We notice in this image slide and Rev 6 verse 2 passage that the rider has a bow but no arrows
This would seem to indicate the Anticrhist conquers the nations peacefully
SLIDE 6 (Show this slide but Glenn moves to notes under)
FIRST SEAL
*Rider on White Horse
*Bow With No Arrows (conquers peacefully)
*After Church is Removed - Antichrist conquers
*Temporary False Peace / Europe Making Agreement with Israel
It seems from all we have read and gathered revelation from so far is after the church is removed the Antichrist will move in to triumph
There will be a false peace temporarily / more than likely uniting Europe and making an agreement with the Jews
There will be 3 more horses to the next 3 seals and then 3 earthly events with last 3 seals
SLIDE 7 “THE SEVEN SEALS OF REVELATION IMAGE SLIDE”
Before going on to the next seal and next horse, The Holy Spirit will be taking us into the book of Daniel to show us some things to help us.
Daniel had just been rescued from the Lions den in Daniel chapter 6 (king Darius reign)
Chapter 7 in Daniel starts out like “I want to tell you a dream and visions I saw back in Belshazzar’s reign”
He was laying on his bed and wrote these things down
SLIDE 8
Daniel 7:2–3 (NLT)
2 In my vision that night, I, Daniel, saw a great storm churning the surface of a great sea, with strong winds blowing from every direction. 3 Then four huge beasts came up out of the water, each different from the others.
“How in the world does this involve the scroll and seven seals?!”
We know that God started His timeline for Israel, finish rebellion, end of sin, everlasting righteousness etc / God tells Daniel - Darius would issue decree for Jews released from Babylon and time starts
Where we are at with the 7 seals in Revelation here in chapter 6 we are at that end of the timeline
Daniel chapter 9 Daniel has prayed a long prayer asking for forgiveness for Israel (including himself)
God sends Gabriel to show Daniel - first their release from Babylon captivity and then reveals timeline
As Daniel is praying Gabriel appears to him and tells him this
SLIDE 9
Daniel 9:21–22 (NLT)
21 As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He explained to me, “Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding.
SLIDE 10
Daniel 9:23 (NLT)
23 The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision.
SLIDE 11
Daniel 9:24 (NLT)
24 “A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.
SLIDE 12
TIMELINE DECREED BY GOD
Seventy Sets of Seven = 490 years
SLIDE 13
Daniel 9:25 (NLT)
25 Now listen and understand! Seven sets of seven plus sixty-two sets of seven will pass from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until a ruler—the Anointed One—comes.
SLIDE 14
TIMELINE DECREED BY GOD
TOTAL TIME- Seventy Sets of Seven = 490 years (Daniel 9:24)
Seven Sets of Seven = 49 years / Babylon till Jerusalem Rebuilt
Sixty Sets of Seven = 434 years / Jerusalem Rebuilt till Jesus
490-49-434 =7
Pretty interesting how many times Jesus told His disciples we can forgive others (70 x 7)
Until there is an end to rebellion, an end to sin, an end to guilt we will have to forgive others
Next slide shows some interesting things as well
SLIDE 15
DANIEL RECEIVES TIMELINE 539 B.C.
(Timeline Started / King Darius Command Rebuild Jerusalem)
JOHN RECEIVES REVELATION VISIONS- 90 A.D.
REVELATION EVENTS FULFILL FINAL 7 YEARS
CHURCH AGE 1993 years (approx)
You see the spread of years between Daniel and Revelation
Daniel receives vision of four beast in 553 B.C approx 14 years before timeline
The vision in Daniel 7 gives a overall picture of what evolves through a development of the kingdoms of the last days and to the point of the seven seals being opened in Revelation chapter 6
SLIDE 16
Daniel 7:2–3 (NLT)
2 In my vision that night, I, Daniel, saw a great storm churning the surface of a great sea, with strong winds blowing from every direction. 3 Then four huge beasts came up out of the water, each different from the others.
SLIDE 17
Daniel 7:4 (NLT)
4 The first beast was like a lion with eagles’ wings. As I watched, its wings were pulled off, and it was left standing with its two hind feet on the ground, like a human being. And it was given a human mind.
(Glenn’s Notes / not necessarily between these slides)
Many believe lion with eagles wings was Babylon of Daniels time / The bear was Medo -Persia empire / The Leopard was Greece (Alexander The Great) / The 4th Terrible beast was Roman Empire
SLIDE 18
Daniel 7:5 (NLT)
5 Then I saw a second beast, and it looked like a bear. It was rearing up on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And I heard a voice saying to it, “Get up! Devour the flesh of many people!”
SLIDE 19
Daniel 7:6 (NLT)
6 Then the third of these strange beasts appeared, and it looked like a leopard. It had four bird’s wings on its back, and it had four heads. Great authority was given to this beast.
SLIDE 20
Daniel 7:7 (NLT)
7 Then in my vision that night, I saw a fourth beast—terrifying, dreadful, and very strong. It devoured and crushed its victims with huge iron teeth and trampled their remains beneath its feet. It was different from any of the other beasts, and it had ten horns.
SLIDE 21
Daniel 7:8 (NLT)
8 As I was looking at the horns, suddenly another small horn appeared among them. Three of the first horns were torn out by the roots to make room for it. This little horn had eyes like human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly.
SLIDE 22
Daniel 7:9 (NLT)
9 I watched as thrones were put in place
and the Ancient One sat down to judge.
His clothing was as white as snow,
His hair like purest wool.
He sat on a fiery throne
with wheels of blazing fire,
SLIDE 23
Daniel 7:10 (NLT)
10 and a river of fire was pouring out,
flowing from His presence.
Millions of angels ministered to Him;
many millions stood to attend Him.
Then the court began its session,
and the books were opened.
SLIDE 24
Daniel 7:15–16 (NLT)
15 I, Daniel, was troubled by all I had seen, and my visions terrified me. 16 So I approached one of those standing beside the throne and asked him what it all meant. He explained it to me like this:
SLIDE 25
Daniel 7:17–18 (NLT)
17 “These four huge beasts represent four kingdoms that will arise from the earth. 18 But in the end, the holy people of the Most High will be given the kingdom, and they will rule forever and ever.”
SLIDE 26
Daniel 7:19 (NLT)
19 Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, the one so different from the others and so terrifying. It had devoured and crushed its victims with iron teeth and bronze claws, trampling their remains beneath its feet.
SLIDE 27
Daniel 7:23 (NLT)
23 Then he said to me, “This fourth beast is the fourth world power that will rule the earth. It will be different from all the others. It will devour the whole world, trampling and crushing everything in its path.
SLIDE 28
Daniel 7:24–25 (NLT)
24 Its ten horns are ten kings who will rule that empire. Then another king will arise, different from the other ten, who will subdue three of them. 25 He will defy the Most High and oppress the holy people of the Most High. He will try to change their sacred festivals and laws, and they will be placed under his control for a time, times, and half a time.
SLIDE 29
Daniel 7:26–27 (NLT)
26 “But then the court will pass judgment, and all his power will be taken away and completely destroyed. 27 Then the sovereignty, power, and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be given to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will last forever, and all rulers will serve and obey Him.”
