New Birth - All Things Have Become New
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Introduction
Introduction
I thank God for this year and it is about to come to a close.
The Lord gave me “Give Thanks” for the November theme. December’s theme is New Birth.
The New Birth of Christ, and the New Birth in us because of His birth.
The New Creation
The New Creation
Since the day you confessed your sins, repented and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you became a new creation.
Yes I know you’re still in the same body as before but something on the inside stared working on the outside.
The things you used to do and say, you don’t anymore. The places you used to go, you don’t go there anymore. The friends you used to have, you don’t have them anymore.
Everything became new!
Old Things Are Gone
Old Things Are Gone
That old desire to sin is still there, but you’ve learned to resist the temptation and the devil fled from you.
That old desire to satisfy the flesh is gone. You became willing to wait for the Lord to bless you with that spouse you desire and resisted the temptation to commit fornication.
That old desire to get even, give someone a piece of your mind, get someone told, and cuss them out is gone
All Things Are New
All Things Are New
Since Jesus came into your life, your thought process has changed.
The people you’ve known for years see the change in you but may not understand.
If anybody ask you what’s the matter with you, tell them you met Jesus and then offer them to meet Him too.
Conclusion
Conclusion
Your old spirit self has died.
Your new spirit self lives.
You are in Christ, He lives in you.
Let’s prepare ourselves to celebrate the reason for the change in us, or the change that will take place.
From now until Christmas Day, we will be hearing about the New Birth that changed the world.
