We celebrate the coming of Emmanuel - God With Us - when Jesus came to earth as a baby. As we remember His first coming, we eagerly anticipate His second coming to restore all things to perfection. Until then, we often find ourselves in the wilderness: a time of pain, frustration, loss, fear and uncertainty. Just as God led Israel into the wilderness when He took them out of the bondage of Egypt, He will lead us also into dry places. But why? What is He trying to accomplish by taking His people into such times of desparation?
