2 Samuel 22:2–3 NKJV
2 And he said: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; 3 The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence.
Giving
Psalm 37:21 NKJV
21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
this weeks Text:
Matthew 9:32–34 NKJV
32 As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a man, mute and demon-possessed. 33 And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying, “It was never seen like this in Israel!” 34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.”

Freedom, Judgement & Jealousy

1. Freedom!

Matthew 9:32–33 NKJV
32 As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a man, mute and demon-possessed. 33 And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying, “It was never seen like this in Israel!”
Here we see a miracle! Rather than being happy that the demon possessed man that was freed and healed they got jealous.
This is not unlike the Jealousy that Saul had against David.
1 Samuel 18:7–8 NKJV
7 So the women sang as they danced, and said: “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.” 8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?”
Saul had been disobedient to the Lord and David had been anointed king at the Lords request.
David was walking in his God given call and Saul was worried about the opinions of men.
There is a very similar thing here, look at the “B” clause of verse 33, “And the multitudes marveled saying it was never seen like this in Isreal. “
it is easy to put on your super spiritual cap on and say, “ I would never be spiritually jealous.”
I wouldn't be so sure about that. the flesh is ugly! God might do something for someone you know and then you might say to yourself why them, they aren’t so perfect and then start running someones inventory as if to say you yourself they don’t deserve that anymore than I do and on and on.
you would be right! God is no respecter of persons.
Romans 2:11 NKJV
11 For there is no partiality with God.
Jealousy keeps us from moving into action. ‘
what we ought to do is move toward someone who has what we want so that we can understand what it took to get somewhere and what it will take to manage the thing that you think you want.
one thing we may learn is we don’t really want whatever you think it is that you want God to give you.
Lets say, it is God’s will for you to walk in whatever it is that you are called to. you need to find out where you are verses where you need to be so that you can get an idea of what its going to tale to get yourself ready.
the will and work of God can come as a complete gift.
however most of the time we have to grow into the things we desire.

2. They Judged Him wrongly.

Matthew 9:34 NKJV
34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.”
in a similar miracle recorded in Mark and later in Matthew, we find this statement.
Mark 3:24 NKJV
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
since what we just said is true what we know is that they where wrong.
how many of us want to stand before God and explain our wrong judgments.
we have all done it and will probably continue to do it. unless you are so spiritual that you levitate from room to room now I encourage us all to drop our judgement and resentment.
we do not have time to maintain Spiritual cancer.
