The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.” And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped.

“That the name of God, his titles, attributes...and whatsoever else there is whereby he makes himself known, be holily and reverently used in thought, meditation, word, and writing” (WLC 112).
Praise of His name. Worship.

Psalm 29:2 ESV
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
Not literally never speaking the name (Modern Jews, G-d)
The OT uses Yahweh around 7,000 times.
Reverence for His name. Using it rightly with respect.
There is a growing level of casualness with others in our culture, even those in authority.

God warned His disciples not to heap up empty phrases when they prayed (Mt. 6:7)
OMG, Jeez, Gosh, good Lord, I swear to God
Joking about Him
Angry cursing
Swearing by His name
Matthew 5:34–37 ESV
But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.
Perjury - under oath, we swear to “tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God.”
