What is Christmas All About?
Gifts, Food, Family, Candy, Santa, Jesus
Do any of you remember one of your most favorite gifts you have ever been given?
Would you be surprised if I told you that Christmas is all about a gifts?
I am not talking about gifts under your tree, or at Grandpa and Grandma’s house. I am talking about the best gifts ever given to us, in fact, I am talking about perfect gifts.
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Did you know one of the perfect gifts God the Father has given to us is Jesus?
Luke 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
God sent Jesus to be born to be a gift to the world.
Did you know that Jesus is called Savior in this verse because he was sent to save us from our sin?
What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say, or do that breaks God’s rules
Have any of you ever told a lie?
Have any of you ever disobeyed your parents?
Have any of you wrongly wanted a toy that belonged to someone else?
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
God sent Jesus to be our Savior and by agreeing with God about our sin and trusting in Jesus who died for us, we are saved from the punishment of our sin.
Isn’t that wonderful!
One more perfect gift to share with you given to us from God.
Have you ever had a toy break? That really stinks doesn’t it?
Did you know the gifts of Jesus and salvation in Him is a forever gift that will never break! Listen to one more verse,
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
There is no better gifts this Christmas than the gift of Jesus our Savior, salvation by trusting in Him to save you from your sin, and these gifts are for you to enjoy not just on Christmas Day, but forever and ever!
