Why this matters? - The Holy Spirit Works Through People!
The primary vehicle through which the Holy Spirit moves/works is the church / people.
Mission: Continue the Work that Jesus began
making, maturing and multiplying disciples of Jesus
John 17:18 ESV
18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.
How? — Spirit Empowerd Ministry
To be full of the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18, Eph 3:19)
John 20:21–22 ESV
21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8 ESV
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
John 7:37–39 ESV
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
