1 John 1:7-10, 2:1
Stand, Read, and Pray
My struggle with this message, but sitting in class on Tuesday GOD made it very plain. And I'm so thankful for that. But that's not to say that this is an easy message to preach, as a fallen sinful man, who has to deal with the my flesh everyday. But as humbly and confident as I know how with GODs help im going to preach on the subject of SIN NOT
Chapter one as we read, ends with several statements regarding Sin. Chapter 2 begins with a message of how to sin not, that is what he is writeing for. We dont hear enought about sin any more. Our who society is built a thought process of everybody is right. Everybody ok with the god that they have made up in their mind, everything is right in there own eyes. But there will be a day when as the Bible says God will be judgeing every deed that is done. Revelation 20:12-13 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And ill begin by saying any preacher that fails to preach on sin is in fact no preacher at all. A preacher is to be a watchmen on the wall. A watchment is to guard the people, to warn them of danger. I would not bother listening to a so called preacher that never mentions the word sin. The Joel Olsteens and so many other ARE motivational speakers, are not called of GOD if they were they would be preaching the whole counsel of GOD. The Bible is very plain WE ARE SINNERS. If you find that offensive, it means you need to get right with God. All Christians are SINNERS, the only thing that separates a born again Christian and a lost person who is dead in trespasses and sin. Is the FACT that they have accepted Jesus by the authority of GODS WORD as the atonement for their sin. The only reason Jesus had to come to this world was to save us from sin. That precious baby in the manager was for the wicked sin of the world. He came here for the my wicked SIN and your wicked sin. He came down born of a virgin in a stable, made lower than the angels for our SIN.
John by the inspiration of the Holy spirit is writing to a child of God. He addresses them as “my little children,” Like a loving father who is instructing his children.
Sin defined- To depart voluntarily from the path of duty prescribed by God to man. In plain words: You didn't do what God told you to do.
The Bible does not say If you sin.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
SIN NOT: Jesus said “Go and sin no more” Walk in the light, the light of God illuiminates sin
IF ANY MAN SIN: Advocate with the Father, Only the saved can truly call God their Father
PROPITIATION FOR OUR SIN: Propitiation in this intance means “that sins have been paid for by the suffering of Another.” It is a sacrifical word.
