Ephesians 1:1–14 (NKJV)
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
Paul Tells us that God Has blessed us in Christ in heavenly places then continues to reveal to us some of this blessings that we have in Him.
Several things are revealed to us
The nature of the Blessing is Spiritual)
He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing
The location of that blessing is in Heavenly places
the Timing of that blessing is the foundation of the World.
Hebrews 4:3 “3....although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.”
How does this blessing manifest in the Earth.
It takes Time and payer (in prayer we draw closer to God by faith)
God blessed Abraham and said i have made you a father of many nations when did not even have one seed.
Yet at the appointed time Sarah had a Son.
Till that point Abraham was drawing nearer and nearer to God through prayer
Faith and prayer go together. In luke 18 Jesus speaks a parable of the widow and prayer
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
God chose us to be holy and blamess before him in Christ before the foundation of the World
Key Words, Predestined and adobtion
Predestined us to adoption as sons Means:- That God has predetermined from the foundation of the world that we will become his sons through Christ.
When God formed us in our mothers womb, he did it with the purpose that one day he will free us from the bondage of the body of death and bring us to the liberty of the sons of God in Christ.
Your salvation, how you came here to this through was already planned by God from the foundation of the World. Everthing is going according to plan.
2 Corinthians 5:1-5 “1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.”
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
He has abounded his grace towards us in all widom and prudence.
9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
We are a people who’se spiritual eyes have been opened to understand the mystery of God’s will, and his purpose for us in this life.
We are ale to discern and understand the will of the Lord.
10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
God right now is working to gather all things in Christ
Ultimately whatever is not in Christ Jesus at the end of time will be destroyed.
The new heaven and the new Earth are in Christ.
11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
We are a people who have an inheritance
We will inherit it if we remain with him, in his house until the end.
In the story of the prodigal son, The father told his other son that “you are always with me and all that i have is yours”. What made all that the father has to be his is that he was always with him.
12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Acts 19:1-7. All who have the same experience this Letter is for you.
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
God has given us the Holy Spirit as a gaurantee of the Inheritance.
