THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER We Are Children Of God, Heirs Of God And Co-Heirs w/Christ • Romans 8:16–17 (NIV) — 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER The Battle That We Face • The Devil Is A Liar And The Father Of Lies • John 8:44 (NIV) — 44b … He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. • James 4:7 (NIV) — 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER Romans 8:16–17 (NIV) — 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER One Aspect Of This Battle Has To Do With Powers And Authorities • Ephesians 6:10–13 (NIV) — 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER The primary steps in submitting to God include: 1) confession of any sin or occult activity in our lives, 2) renouncing the sin and occult activity, 3) receiving forgiveness for those sins, 4) forgiving those who have wronged us, 5) renouncing the lies we have believed and affirming the truth 6) committing ourselves to God’s truth as the basis for our lives. THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER Receive Forgiveness • 1 John 1:9 (NIV) — 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER We Use The Offensive Weapons The Lord Has Given Us • The Blood • The Scriptures Say That By The Blood We Are Redeemed, Justified, Cleansed, And Made Holy, And By The Blood We Have Confidence To Enter The Most Holy Place. • (Eph 2:13 NIV) But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER The Name Of Jesus • (Mat 28:18 NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. • He Has Chosen To Delegate His Power -- In His Name, To All Of Those Who Belong To Him.
