What do you think it means to love one another?
The reality of our love as a christian is found here in Romans
Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love.
Love for God’s people is so important.
What do you think happens when God’s people don’t love each other?
Let’s go deeper, can you love someone who has done you wrong?
Its really hard to love someone who we feel has wronged us.
Yet, it is really important that we do just that.
Would any of you like to share a story when someone said something to you that maybe hurt your feelings?
Can we all agree with this at least.
Our feelings get hurt sometimes.
But by scripture we are to love one another with brotherly affection.
What do you think that looks like?
Now it get’s even more complicated,
We are now to show each other honor.
What could be another word for honor?
I think respect could be another word for honor.
Are we going to mesh with everybody and be best buds with everyone?
We absolutely will not mesh with everyone that isn’t the goal, but if we are going to live as Christ we have to love them.
We have to have a brotherly love and respect for them even if we don’t mesh.
Now, what does that look like do you think?
It means we can pray for them.
It means we can worship God with them.
It means we can honestly care about them physically and spiritually.
