The Making of a Miracle
I. Controlling the jet stream…far fetched.
By faith I see a miracle…
Psalm 40:5 ESV
You have multiplied, O Lord my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told.
II. What is a miracle (Ps 40:5 You have multiplied…..)(Heaschel - No place in Torah if all his life is not a miracle; no natural course of events; starry heavens above and moral law within; life and law giver)
- Not a sudden event
- Not a wish come true
- The goodness of God
- A response; a choice; a change
III. What miracles are in your life
Psalm 17:15 ESV
As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.
(Ps 17:15 As for me….)
- A breath; a relationship; salvation
- Reflected in Gratitude (One Leper was grateful; 10 were healed but one was changed; only one really experienced the miracle of Messiah.)
- What miracles can God do through you in another’s life? (ahavah אַהֲבָה. God’s love is the verb le-eho’v לֶאֱהוֹב.)
Isaiah 26:3 ESV
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
IV. Why are miracles in your life (Isa 26:3 You keep him…) Everyday is a miracle to the one who trusts I. The Lord.
- In everything he sees Mercy; Grace; Christ
Jeremiah 17:14 ESV
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.
Jer 17:14 The miracles have already been made by the miracle Maker. You just have to recognize and embrace them.
The Miracle Maker has already made you a miracle by His redeeming power and glory.
