Remember Now

Ecclesiastes 12:1 (KJV)
1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
Solomon is calling you to remember
Because he had forgotten and was miserable
Because you may forget and need to remember
Jesus is the only loving Lord 1 John 4:19 “19 We love him, because he first loved us.”

God has been abundantly rich in mercy toward us

Ephesians 2:4–7 (KJV)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Did any of you know to do right this week and do wrong? That is rebellion.
You are here today. That is mercy

Remember Always

Remember this now and always. Psalm 48:14 “14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.”
Ecclesiastes 12:2–8 (KJV)
2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

The Enemy

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV)
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
We should delight in his love, his care, his protection, and His desire to have a personal relationship with us.
In the coming year, let me encourage you to make this relationship your priority.
we delight in God through what he has made. Psalm 19:1 “1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
This Christmas pause. Do not just look at a gift and thank of gratefulness to your parents (but certainly do this) but look around at how abundantently good our Lord is to us. Let that fuel your desire to follow Him more closely in the coming year.
