Final message of our Foundation study in which we have been getting an overview of the Old Testament.
Through this study, we have been asking two questions:
What do we learn about God?
What do we learn about ourselves?
We have seen a lot of things about God and ourselves.
What are some of the things we have seen?
Today, we are going to see another thing about our Lord that is a major theme of the Bible.
We are going to see that
God is Faithful
What does it mean that God is faithful?
The fact that God is faithful speaks to two other essential qualities of the Lord.
Unchangeable / Immutable
Trustworthy
One of the best ways to see God’s Faithfulness—both his unchangeableness, and his trustworthiness—is by looking at the promises He has made, and how He always keeps those promises.
He does not change.
He does not go back on His word.
He does what He says.
So, today, we are going to take some time to look at some of the promises God has made in the Old Testament, and see his faithfulness.
