8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
“Whatsoever things are true”
True- Greek word Alethes and means unconcealed, manifest, actual, true to fact
Greek culture implied integrity and sincerity with no falsehood or hypocrisy.
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
“Whatsoever things are honest”
semnos- means worthy of respect, dignified, august, and venerable.
“Whatsoever things are just”
dikaios- also means righteous. Was first used of persons observant of justice, custom, rule, right, especially in the fulfillment of duties toward deity and men, and of things that were in accordance with right.
“whatsoever things are pure”
Hagnos-means pure, innocent, pure from defilement, not contaminated, is rendered pure, has the connotation of holiness. Comes from the same root word as holy.
“Whatsoever things are lovely”
prosphiles-pleasing, agreeable, lovely
only appears once in the New Testament
“Whatsoever things are of good report”
“if there be any virtue”
arete-means excellence of character and stands for any mental excellence, moral quality or physical power.
“and if there be any praise”
epainos-denotes approbation, commendation, praise.
“think on these things.”

Rejoice in the Lord, Always
2. Be gentle with people
3. The Lord is at Hand! He is here in every situation and He is coming soon.
4. Don’t worry about anything.
5. Take everything to God in prayer.
6. Be thankful for all He has done and all He is doing.
7. Think constantly on the things of the Lord, all of which are positive.
