OMIT Sometimes Jesus is not as welcome in our homes and on our jobs,in our schools, in our communities, and even in our churches. And I also found out that our screen time on our cell phones or lab tops or home computers are rarely spent on Religious content. and when it comes to TV, even less. If it’s got too much Jesus on t TV we turn the channel.

I submit to us to find time to have room for Jesus in our lives. because the bible says in Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. In our lives we are faced with countless opportunities to make room for Jesus in our homes, on our jobs, in our community and in our church. So let’s find room for Jesus. and First of all, start off in your own home. Because Charity begins at home. Let’s Try treating somebody nicer on our jobs even though they might not be a nice person at all. Let’s Go out of your way to do something good for the communities that we live in. and lastly Let’s make sure that before the new year comes in, that we make peace with somebody in this church not nobody else church, but right here.

3. And the pride of Rome was that they took a census every fourteen years for military reasons and for tax purposes. Caesar Augustus wanted those taxes and census count. “Somebody asked me how many members does Pilgrim have”? and I said however many God gave me to watch over.

4. It was a requirement that each Jewish male would return to the city of his fathers to record his name, occupation, property, and family. And brothers and sisters When look back at Luke 1:38 where Mary said “Be it unto me according to Thy word” , That meant that from then on, her life would be a part of the fulfillment of divine prophecy. God had promised that the Saviour would be a human, not an angel

And so brothers and sisters While rehearsing the facts from biblical yesteryear this is what I’ve learned about all of this“If we make God’s Word central and key in our lives, then His word will control our lives, and If God’s word controls our lives then our past our present and our future actions will help us fulfill the will of God”. If you’ve got God’s Word in you, you’ll do good by the kingdom of God, His Pastor and His people.

Mary and Joseph were going to Bethlehem to be taxed because they were already husband and wife wait nah 2x but since they did not consummate the marriage until after Jesus was born, and right now at this point tin the story she is called his “espoused wife”. (Matt. 1:18–25). Mary and Joseph are traveling That 80 mile long journey to Bethlehem. This journey must have been very trying for Mary, with her being big and pregnant, and riding through hilly and mountainous terrain on a donkey.

This whole ordeal was difficult but 1. Mary rejoiced in doing the will of God. She said my soul do magnify the Lord.. She sang her song to the Lord. But

2. There was also another reason why Mary was so glad to get away from Nazareth. It was gossiping people who wouldn’t let Mary live down her past. It’s got people who want to bring up your past and soon as they need a whipping board to bring you down they will pull up your past. Boy oh boy back in Nazareth you know they were talking about poor Mary. And if they talked about Mary back then they’ll sure talk about you too. And if it hasn’t happen to you yet just keep on living.

Then the text says in verse 7 That she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes. Mothers in that day wrapped their infants in long bands of cloth to give the limbs strength and protection. Then laid Him in a manger. The “Manger” (Luke 2:7, 12, 16) is translated “stall” or a feeding trough or an enclosure for animals. Jesus the Savior of the world was born in a cave and laid down in a feeding trough in Bethlehem. Bethlehem means “house of bread,” and brothers and sisters it’s the ideal birthplace for Jesus who is also called the Bread of Life in (John 6:35).

Point 2 Jesus Drew The Angels From Heaven Look at our theme text in Luke 2:8-14 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, Good will toward men.

1. How amazed the angels must have been when they saw the Creator born as a creature, Yes indeed , think about that, the Word of Power Jesus the Christ coming as a speechless little new born baby. It resulted in wonder and worship.

3. The first public announcement of the Messiah’s birth in the NT was given by the Angel Gabriel and “get this” to some anonymous shepherds. Why shepherds? Why not to priests or scribes? Well here’s the answer

4. By visiting the shepherds, the Angel Gabriel revealed the grace of God toward mankind. Shepherds were really outcasts in Israel. Their work made them ceremonially unclean, and kept them away from the temple for weeks at a time so that they could not be made clean.

But what we’ve got to understand is that God does not call the rich and mighty; He calls the poor and the lowly (Luke 1:51–53; 1 Cor. 1:26–29).If you too high God can’t use you.

And in the Luke 2 text Perhaps these shepherds were caring for the flocks that would provide sacrifices for the temple services. It was fitting that the good news about God’s Shepherd and Lamb and Great Shepherd of the Sheep be given first to humble shepherds. They were already doing the job.

Why ? Shepherds are not easily fooled. They are practical men of the world who have little to do with folly or fantasy or foolishness. If they said that they saw angels and went and found the Messiah, then you could bank on it and believe them. In modern times “God makes the Shepherd watch for the souls of the congregation that’s why the text said shepherd were watching over their flocks by night”. God selected hardworking men to be the first witnesses that His Son had come into the world.

Brothers and sisters imagine this, First, they see one angel appearing, And we know that, that was (Gabriel right?) Gabriel gave the great announcement of glad tidings; and then a chorus of angels joined him.

Last Point Jesus Drew The Shepherds From The Fields Look at Luke 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Beth-lehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
