1 Chronicles 16:34 NKJV
34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 145:9 AMP
9 The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created].
1 John 1:5 NKJV
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
God is purely good without mixture of any kind.
Because God is purely good, everything He does is good.
Even the God- things we don’t like, don’t understand, or don’t agree with are good - if it’s God, it’s good!

When God says, “No.”:

When God says, “No.” - He is still good!
God NEVER says, “No” in order to withhold good from us, deprive us, or to make us less.
Psalm 84:11 NKJV
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
God says NO in order to keep us from things that aren’t good for us.
A red traffic light is not meant to stop you from reaching your destination, but it stops you from getting “t-boned” along the way.
Remember being mad when your parents said no to things that were not good for you?
Do you remember ever disobeying your parents when they said, “No”???
By the way,
Just because God says, “No” doesn’t mean people automatically listen and obey.
We have to make the choice to submit to His loving wisdom & direction.
Conversely,
Just because a Christian (“child of God”) is doing something doesn’t mean that God said, “Yes.”
A tree is known by its fruit.

Timing:

You’ve heard it said that “Timing is Everything”
Timing is not everything, but it is vitally important in God’s plan working in your life.
3 Ways to be Wrong & 1 Way to be Right:
Right thing - Wrong Time
Wrong thing - Right Time
Wrong Thing - Wrong Time
Right Thing - Right Time
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
The right thing at the wrong time is not a blessing! (Driving, promotion before character development, sexual intimacy)
Waiting for the right timing takes Discipline, Character, & Trust in a Good God!
No one likes discipline at the time.
Hebrews 12:11 AMP
11 For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems grievous and painful; but afterwards it yields a peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it [a harvest of fruit which consists in righteousness—in conformity to God’s will in purpose, thought, and action, resulting in right living and right standing with God].
God telling you to wait is not God’s punishment it is God’s goodness.
God’s Timing yields maximum blessing!
Delay is not denial
We can easily push past God’s Divine delay & rush things but that often ends up birthing a premature thing. (Ref. Genesis 16)
God’s goodness navigates you through things that you cannot personally navigate through in order to get to a destiny/destination that is not possible for you alone (like getting on an airplane or Driving with stoplights - life is more fraught with peril than driving)

Good News:

God’s goodness is not dependent upon your performance!!!
Deuteronomy 9:6 NKJV
6 Therefore understand that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.
Matthew 5:45 NKJV
45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Our actions will affect God’s corresponding actions but our performance doesn’t affect God’s goodness.

How We See It:

Luke 8:18 NKJV
18 Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”
Start from the position of being convinced that God is good.
Begin to look for His goodness because it MUST be there.
This is the filter & lens we must see through in order to see correctly.
Jesus didn’t like the cross, but He saw God’s goodness in His love for human kind and submitted Himself to be sacrificed for that cause.
The flood doesn’t look good until you understand that there was no antidote for sin & that everyone who died in the flood would have an opportunity for salvation later.
Things didn’t look well for Joseph: sold, imprisoned, falsely accused, forgotten, but finally promoted so he could save many lives!
When you look at any situation:
Look to see how God’s great plan for the salvation of mankind is being worked out and how He wants to use your life & situation.

Just One Thing:

God is Good and His mercy endures forever - Vigilantly look for the goodness of God in your life as His plan & timing unfolds in your life.

Discussion Questions:

What social stigma does society need to get over?
In general, how deeply are you convinced of the goodness of God in every situation? (Rate your level of being convinced from 0 -10 & share why)
Please read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and share how much you value & how well you follow the timing of God in your life.
If you can, please share your biggest tip or encouragement to others for walking in the plan & timing of God to experience His goodness.
