Evident from early age Jeremiah’s heart and passion for music, praise and worship
Our connection through the plexiglass of the drums
Jeremiah had an amazing ability to assimilate information and apply it. He learned and became an amazing musician just by watching what we were doing and going home and applying it.
What could I and what could we learn from Jeremiah’s life?
Like Harris said…He brought joy to every situation and place he went
Loved all people and could connect to everyone– 5 years old to 75 years old
Heart to minister to those around him…constantly asking his friends if they needed prayer. Them talking about their situations and him simply responding “Have you prayed about it?”
David was talking with him not too long ago about a difficult situation he was facing. Very real and hard thing to face. Talked for a long time. Jeremiah intently listened and his reply was “I’m giving it to God.”
There’s lots we could learn from Jeremiah’s life, but we don’t just learn from who he WAS…we can learn from who HE CURRENTLY IS…and WHERE HE CURRENTLY IS!
Jeremiah isn’t just in our memories. He’s not just in our past, but He’s in our future. And in the present, he is gazing uninterrupted and unhindered and unobstructed upon the glory and beauty and majesty of Jesus.
He would have so much to say about how he now sees the fullness of God’s love and goodness.
He would remind us to stay connected to Jesus, His beauty, His goodness and His love…especially in this time of walking through the pain of the loss.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 TPT
Beloved brothers and sisters, we want you to be quite certain about the truth concerning those who have passed away, so that you won’t be overwhelmed with grief like many others who have no hope.
Mourning is Biblical. We need to mourn and grieve loss…but our mourning must be a Biblical mourning…the mourning that leads us into the arms of the comforter and the healer. There’s a mourning that leads us closer to God and one that leads us away from Him. We have to choose the right way to mourn the loss and the pain of life.
I won’t mourn in the presence of Jesus and in the arms of the comforter if I think or believe He is the reason I’m suffering the loss in the first place.
Isaiah 57:1-2
The righteous person perishes, and no one takes it to heart; the faithful are taken away, with no one realizing that the righteous person is taken away because of evil. He will enter into peace— they will rest on their beds— everyone who lives uprightly.
When we face death, loss, and destruction in this life we have to keep in mind who’s agenda it was for those things.
John 10:10
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
We have to remember that our enemy hates us…but also that God’s love is infinitely greater that our enemies hate.
And the hope we have through the immensity of God’s love is that even when the enemy robs us in this life…because of Jesus and our faith in Him…our enemy can’t rob God!
Death doesn’t win against the believer!
John 10:28-29
And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
Jeremiah, in his present reality would do what he did in this earthly existence…but in a much greater way He would continue to point us toward Jesus. Even in the loss, the pain, and the sorrow. He would reveal to us how great God truly is. And he would urge us to not let ANYTHING rob us from our connection to Jesus. He would passionately compel us to not let ANYTHING rob us of our joy and our peace that’s promised through Jesus.
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!
Jeremiah brought joy to every situation and place. And He always gave things to God and asked, “Did you pray about it?”
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
We all face loss, and pain and disappointment. Remember, our disappointments don’t define God’s desire. It’s natural to want answers to the hard moments of life. It’s natural to want to understand why things happen the way they do. But to the degree that we can release our need to understand, we can receive the peace of God that surpasses and transcends understanding. We ultimately don’t need to know why…what we need is Jesus and His abiding presence in our lives. That’s what Jeremiah understands now more than ever.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 42:5
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.
