Unlikely Father-Matthew 1:18-25

I. Joseph demonstrated grace in a difficult situation. (Matt. 1:18-19).

• A. They were real people in an unreal predicament.
• B. He was selfless in a self-centered world.

Result: God honored his response with more guidance. (1:20-23).

II. Joseph demonstrated obedience in an uncertain situation. (Matt. 1:24).

• A. Understandable fear. (1:20, 22-23; Isa. 7:14).
• B. Understandable hesitancy.

--he felt inadequate!

God's answer to Joseph an us: Emmanual. (vs. 23).

• C. Humble response.
• D. Submissive response. (1:24; Matt. 2:13-14, 19-21).

• God says to us: "Just Do It!"
• E. Honorable response. (1:25).

Result: God allowed Joseph to raise the Messiah.

I will humbly trust and obey!
