3) Ruth means friend. John 31:3: The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

4) Bathsheba is not mentioned but is the wife of Urias. Her name means the daughter of complete satisfaction. Christ satisfies us. 5) Mary means favored woman. She found favor with God. She was faithful and obedient. Luke 1:30: And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

Five women: four were Gentiles and one was a Jew and were all different nationalities. John 6:37: All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
