Jesus Our king

Tonight we are lighting the Christmas candle
During this time of the year, we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of our Lord and savior and to remind ourselves that He is coming again.
The word advent in the Latin means “coming”
Christians around the world use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas.
Behold our King
Thank you for joining us tonight, to celebrate our King.
we are celebrating the birth of Jesus, but also remembering His promise that He is coming again and soon.
Is very important that we know Him, thank you for coming to worship Him with us.
Behold our King, yes Jesus is our King
Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus, Mathew connects Him to Abraham and David, through Joseph
Mat 1:17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
And Luke presents the genealogy from Mary’s side, also connecting Jesus as a descendant of Abraham and King David.
He is a rightful King, Is He your King?
Tonight, I’m inviting you to notice Him, Behold our King!

He is Emmanuel

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
God with us, welcome His presence tonight, is His desire to be present with you.
For the past 4 Sunday’s we have observed

1 He is our Hope

Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
The literal translation of the word Hope in this verse is a Cord, rope to hold on, Hang on tight to His promises, it will come to pass, whatever he told you it will be fulfilled.
The foundation of our hope lies in Christ , the one we are waiting for, the one who has already defeated sin and death, in His death and resurrection.

2 He is our Prince of peace

Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His peace is not like the peace of this world
Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]
"Look, My peace I give to you." Shalom, That kind of peace that He had when the boat was sinking and He was sleeping. That peace that comes through perfect confidence that the Father is in control of everything that surrounds my life. God’s in control. "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
Behold our King

3 He fills us with His Joy

Psa 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Come into His presence and He will fill you with His joy, His karah that is everlasting.
Isa 51:11 Those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

4 He is a Loving God

1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.
Our Father’s love is sacrificial and unconditional. It is overwhelming and welcoming. His unconditional love for each of us runs so deep that we are called children of God.
I remember many years ago attending a meeting in Rio and Joy Dawson was the speaker that night, she prayed we would have a vision of Jesus a fresh revelation of Him and all the sudden, I saw Jesus, like in a movie, it was just me and Him and I understood right then that he loved me, that He would die and suffer all that he suffered even if I was the only one who would said yes to Him, it became very personal, I was worth His sacrifice, He loved me.
I pray the same prayer this evening may all of us have a fresh revelation of Jesus, right now or tonight as you sleep. May your life be changed forever with this revelation.
Jesus our King came to introduce us to our loving Father
Scholars and priest new God as our creator as a God of power, as a holy God
But no one knew him as a loving father even though
David wrote about him
Psa 36:7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
And Zephaniah
Zep 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
Luk 15:1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus.
Luk 15:11 Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons.
Luk 15:12 The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them.
Disrespectfully he said to his father give me my share of the state, usually we wait until the father dies, passes away before we say give my share.
Surprisingly the father divides the property and gives to him, what also would reduce the fathers potential income.
Luk 15:13 "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
Without any consideration for his father or family he took all his wealth and wasted in wild living.
Luk 15:14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.
Luk 15:15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
Luk 15:16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
Luk 15:17 "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!
Thank God, that still happens today, not often, but people comes to their senses after they find themselves with nothing in need.
Luk 15:18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
Luk 15:19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.'
He was serious about that, he fail and made a great mess, if the father would have mercy on him, he would work for him as a servant.
Luk 15:20 So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
Luk 15:21 "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
Luk 15:22 "But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
Luk 15:23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate.
Luk 15:24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate.
Jesus was describing a loving and forgiving father, a father who had all authority to judge condemn and reject this unworthy, rotten son. But instead he welcomes him back, restores his position and celebrates him.
Jesus wants you to know that your Heavenly Father will do the same thing for you and me.
he will forgive and restore us, if we comeback to Him.
Lam 3:22 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
Lam 3:23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Behold Our King , Jesus
He is God’s gift to us
Php 2:6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
Php 2:7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
Php 2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Php 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
Php 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Php 2:11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
I don’t know if you ever bow down to King Jesus, surrendering your life to Him?
If you have not here is your opportunity.
make Jesus the Lord of our lives.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Joh 3:16
To receive Jesus, we need to accept Him as God’s son, repent from our sins and a life of selfishness, asking Him to be your savior and Lord, not that you deserve it, but is a gift from God.
If this is your desire today, please repeat this prayer after me?
Heavenly Father I’m sinner,
I’m sorry for my sins,
I’m willing to turn away from my sins.
I receive Christ as my savior,
I confess him as Lord
from this moment on I want to follow and serve him,
in the fellowship of his church,
In Jesus name. Amen!
We are closing with the lighting of the candles
I am going to invite our team to come and help us with the lighting of the candles, help the person on your right.
Mat 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
Mat 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
E mau aku ka loko maika’i o ka Haku, Iesu Kristo; me ke aloha a ke Akua, a me ka launa pu ‘ana mai o ka Uhane Hemolele ia ‘olua, a me makou apau. Amene.
prayer
I believe our Heavenly Father has a gift for you too, I would like to invite you to bring the prayers you are carrying in your heart to His throne of grace, He wants to answer them
There are family members that are sick, some that are hurting, friends and family that don’t have a relationship with Jesus, some in need of finances, jobs, provision, let’s bring all these needs before His throne of grace. The churches in Hawaii and across the US, the war in Ukraine.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Offering
3 years ago we began our Preservation project for Mokuaikaua church, after almost 200 years our church building was a storm away or an earthquake away from a disaster, after the 6.7 earth quake in 2006 another earthquake of the same magnitude could bring the building down. . We even survived the 6.9 earth quake in 2018 the largest earth quake in hawaii
After much planning and the favor of our God we began, the preservation, we first believed that $3Mil would be sufficient and because of the love and faithfulness of so many of you, and the favor of our God we began, grants came inn, small and big donations at one point a visitor from Canada came inn and donated $3mil 450k dollars all together $4.7 mil came inn at the time I thought we got it let’s rap up this thing up, but in 2020 when all should be done covid hit, the cost of materials triple, the new crew from the county asked for more work to be done on our steeple, so we still $ 1.1 mil from completing the project.
85% of the project is done we finally have a restored roof attached to the walls, not just sitting on top of the walls, the walls were reinforced, the steeple completely redone, foundations redone, a three phase electrical system ready to be completed, the 3 new poles you see on the side will supply electricity to our church and the community behind us
Tonight I want to invite to join us in finishing our preservation of Mokuaikaua, Mokuaikaua tells a tremendous story of God’s love for the Hawaiian people and the people of the world, it marked the beginning of one of the greatest revivals in the world, beginning in 1820 and by 1840 97% of the population of Hawaii had come to Christ and recognize Him as their Lord and savior.
In 2023 We would like to continue to tell the story of God’s love, with live performances and worship from inside of our sanctuary, I believe is the reason why God has preserved this building for so long, we are the oldest building standing in Hawaii.
Would you pray with me and ask the Lord if He wants for you to be a part of this great history as part of your legacy to the world? People from around the world will be bless by you!
All we need is one check, God bless you!
