This evening we have come together to celebrate again Christmas
So far this Christmas we have celebrated Jesus as the coming promise and the coming savior
This evening we celebrate and look at Jesus as the light
In our Elders Meeting, Eric Stanley talked to us about decorating the church
That Deidra had picked a theme for this year
I am not a decorator and I didn’t know there were themes
But when He said that she had picked the theme of Jesus is light
I thought maybe I can work with that for our sermon
Especially on Christmas eve since this is the service where we light candles
As you can in you should have got a candle, a kem light
Some 2020 years a light was seen
2 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
a light was seen that lead them to worship the one true light
How cool is that
A light lead those men to the one true light that is Jesus
Lead them to worship the one true light
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
When they saw that light they worship God
That star led them to the exact place where Jesus was who is the one true light
Jesus himself says
12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
Jesus is the Light of the World
No one or no thing can extinguish that light
Some 2020 years ago The Light Was Born
With THE light we can walk and not stumble right
That is what the light does
It allows us to move around and not stumble

Because in the darkness we try and walk around and we will inevitably walk into the wall and stumble and get hurt
TURN LIGHTS ON
But because of that light we no longer have to walk in the darkness
That is why THE Light came
So that we would no longer have to walk in darkness
35 So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.
This is why the light came so that we could walk in the Light and not have to walk in the darkness any longer
Because of Christ church we can walk in the LIGHT
That is why we celebrate so much during this time especially
The fact that Jesus came so that we would no longer have to remain in darkness

Because of Christ we no longer have to sit around in the darkness and twiddle our thumbs
We no longer have to move around in the darkness
Because of Jesus we can have that light in our lives and because darkness cannot and doesn’t extinguish the light
Because of a personal relationship with Jesus you can have The Light in your life

46 “I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.
And church when we share that with other people it is absolutely amazing to see what happens
The darkness goes away
Because the Light always goes out and gets ride of the darkness
