Why do you lose things?
Like anyone we sometimes lose things.
I have lost my sunglasses and I refuse to go buy a new pair because 2 things, they are so expensive, and when I do purchase them I will find them, this is the question though we will look to tal k about today, we will be in Luke 15, and our plan is to look and see how they go about losing things.
WHY DO YOU LOSE THINGS?
Open Bible
We are going to look at 3 different reasons we are belivers lose things, specifically we are going to look at why we lose our intamcay with Christ, most of in this room have expeirenced this and can relate to times when we have gone through dry times, or deserts, or we just can seem to get close to God, sometimes the answers to that question is because God is leading us into that peirod, like he lead the hebrews into the desert, but more often than not it is something we do to lose our intamcy with Christ
The first one out of Luke 15:1-7 is Distractions
Distractions
how do we define distractions?
a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else
A thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else
In this scripture we see that the sheep just wonders off, it would seem something more interesting is going on.
My daughter do the same thing, when I talk with them I have to get on their eye level and remind them to look at me.
When people talk we need to listen, when God talks we need to list.
we are surrounded by a world that is full od distractions, tv, sports, phones, people, even within the church we often get wrapped up in the distractions satan will throw our way, gossip, the next new fade, the next big program, is the service going well, technology, pastors dress, his beard length
The first way we lose our intimacy with Christ is with common distractions
a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.
