Each year on Christmas time, I like to reflect on the birth of Christ and the story of the birth of Christ. It was event of hope, celebration, and awe for those that witnessed it - from the lowliest of shepherd to the wisest of kings. The coming of the Messiah for the ancient Israelites was marked by a long period of waiting, turmoil, slavery, prophecy, and hope. The event that took place when Christ was born is known as the incarnation of Christ. Word became flesh and dwelt among men. The greatest of kings was born in the humblest of places. This suffering savior came so that we could be set free from the bondage of sin and reconcile back to God.
