A Heavenly Assignment

Luke 1:26–30 NKJV
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
1. Approval
Blessed are you among Woman
You have found favor with God
God picked Mary because something about the way she lived her life God could trust
Approval comes with stewardship
Approved for a loan
Luke 1:31–33 NKJV
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
2. Assignment
God gives her an assignment
You’re going to have a baby and he’s going to be the Savior of the World
When God gives you an assignment, it will always be impossible in the natural
Impossible assignments create total reliance on God
God’s plans will always transcend you’re ability
What is God asking you to do this next year?
It should overwhelm you!
Luke 1:34–38 NKJV
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
3. Agreement
We walk in agreement with His word
“Let it be to me according to your word”
When the HOLY SPIRIT came upon here
Mary represent the natural/being mixed with the supernatural
This is not a one time event
Now God through Jesus mixes our natural lives and we’re reborn through our agreement to His will
Luke 1:46–48 NKJV
46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
4. Anticipation
My soul magnifies the Lord
There’s an anticipation of God’s promises
We hold fast to the promises
When it doesn’t look right
When you have to travel 70 miles in the 3rd trimester of your pregnancy
When there’s no room in the inn
When nothing is going according to plans
When everything looks like a set back and God is setting you up for the most important birth that has ever taken or will ever take place
You magnify the Lord in the anticipation of HIs promises
Luke 2:6–7 NKJV
6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
5. Revelation
The soul purpose for God’s plans and his promises in your life if for Christ to be revealed
Everything God intended to do in and through you will be impossible on your own merit
The Holy Spirit comes upon Mary and Jesus is revealed
When the Holy spirit comes upon a surrendered believer Jesus is revealed
No matter what you’re going through or what you’ve done
God sent his son Jesus(Immanuel ) or God with us so we could be brought back to a relationship with Him
Hebrews 13 says he’ll never leave us nor forsake us
What’s your assignment?
Is it too big for you to handle? Good! rely on God
