Angels from the realms of glory, Wing your flight o’er all the earth; Ye who sang creation’s story Now proclaim Messiah’s birth. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.

The Angel’s Message (v 10)

The message of joy was delivered to the lowly. It was promised for all the people.
To the Jew first and also to the Gentile.
Peace on earth to men.
It was a personal message: I proclaim to YOU.
It was a message of exceeding great joy.
It was directed towards those who most needed to hear it (all the people).
It was received by the outcast and lowly.
Shepherds, in the field abiding, Watching o’er your flocks by night, God with us is now residing; Yonder shines the infant light: Come and worship ...Worship Christ, the newborn King.

The Anointed Messiah (11)

Jesus was born to Mary, but the angel declared he was born to You. He came because of You!
He is Savior.
The deliverer! What did he come to deliver his people from?
Matthew 1:21 ESV
She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
God’s gift to us is salvation through Jesus.
He is the Christ (the Messiah).
All throughout the Old Testament God had promised the Messiah.
He is the Anointed One. God’s chosen One to deliver, to save, and to reign.
Acts 4:12 ESV
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
He is the only Mediator between God and man! He is God the Father’s chosen representative to us, and our only hope before God the Father.
1 Timothy 2:5–6 ESV
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
He is Lord!
He is master, Lord of All.
He is the “one Lord Jesus Christ,       the only Son of God,       begotten from the Father before all ages,            God from God,            Light from Light,            true God from true God,       begotten, not made;       of the same essence as the Father.       Through him all things were made.” - Nicene Creed
Jesus is our Savior, the Messiah, Lord of all!
Sinners, wrung with true repentance, Doomed for guilt to endless pains, Justice now revokes the sentence, Mercy calls you; break your chains. Come and Worship… Worship Christ the newborn King.

The Manger (12)

The sign given to the shepherds was one of humility.
It was not a place of glory. The angels shown on the shepherds, but we are not told that the manger scene was light by visible glory from heaven. It was rough and simple. It was poor and humble. But there lay the glory of God. There lay the true light that pierced our darkness! There lay the Savior of the World, the Christ, the Messiah of God, the Lord of all!
Though an Infant now we view Him, He shall fill His Father’s throne, Gather all the nations to Him; Every knee shall then bow down: Come and worship … Worship Christ the newborn king!
