Looking into Time- What We Anticipate
Resolution, goals, adjustments.
Time is is new every day and we anticipate its newness in the New Year.
We each will look into our calendars of life and begin reserving dates for special experiences and events.
What keeps the new year as fresh in our hearts and minds, is that we get to re-do or re-new that which was of the past.
It it at these 2 roads the future will be formed.
Looking into Time- There aren’t any details Psalm 139:16;
Psalm 139:16 (ESV) 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm 102:11 (ESV)11 My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.
(Psalm 39)4 “O LORD, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days;let me know how fleeting I am!
Each of these passages reminds us of the detail that we neglect.
Our days are numbered, Yet God has a designed purpose for each one of them.
Each day will not last, it will pass—likewise what we do will pass, and fade.
Yet the eternal work will last forever.
Its story will be shared and be expressed as an offering to Christ in Heaven.
We read in these passages that our outer life is fading away, (Paul said, but inwardly, i am being renewed everyday.)
My and your days are fleeting—we cannot stop them.
Today, I remind you that within these characteristic of time, is a renewing of the inner spirit of man by living into the purpose that God has for your existence!
Yes, we can know our purpose.
Scripture also instructs us in how we are and how we are to be in order to fulfill the purpose that God has designed us for.
This is what makes each person unique.
Uniqueness is more than the finger print— it is living with the finger prints of God on your life.
The details of Jesus life are recorded four us.
There dau of birth, 5 days away from parents, 40 days in the wilderness, 3 years of ministry, week of his passion, 3 days in the tomb, 50 days odd pentecost, the ascension.
Looking into God’s Detailed Time- We can find purpose
A renewed vision does not look for things, it seeks what the heart has been trying to lead in our lives in the past.
As believers, Christ followers, we have the presence of God within us— The Holy Spirit!
He is our Helper....
It is his role to lead and reveal our daily purpose.
He instructs, counsels, teaches and guides.
As we look into 2023, we can formulate (see) how we are to express our purpose.
Again, the entity is quite simple and clear- Read the words of Jesus, the red letter words.
What did he instruct, direct, teach.
We have his words on our church mug- a daily reminder.
(love God with all you are, love your neighbor as yourself!)
But these must be on display, not hidden in the inner realm of good intentions.
This is the issue of why “resolutions” do not work.
We need to be the active participant in following the instructions.
We ask who, how… but not why.
We know the Why.
When is also given—daily.
As much as this is true for each of us as individuals and families, it is also true for us as a church.
Looking into Time- We need directional assistance.
The Holy Spirit and A Plan: The DE-POPULIZATION OF HELL!
We, as a church, need to Re-New our focus, our viewing into the future.
To do this, we by renewing our heart for our Mission- make disciples for Jesus by loving our neighbors as ourselves.
Our mission is to be a vital part of the DE-POPULIZATION OF HELL!
RE-New our Vision- we want to imagine was our communities and neighborhood would look like, feel like, act like because of the expressions of love we express to our neighbors & communities.
Re-Strategize how we can share our love.
This is the how we will do the love as a church.
This is to be a missional church.
The handout of Mission, Vision, and Strategy.... Love our neighbors AS we love (are) love our self.
