Wise Men Still Seek Him

Matthew 2:1-12 ~ Wise Men from the East:

• The Wise Men sought Jesus.

• ‘His’ star refers to ‘the Star of Bethlehem.’

• They came to worship Him.

• They ‘entered’ the house. They entered in to the Presence of God.

• They physically saw Jesus. We see Him with our eyes of faith.

• They fell down and worshiped Him.

• They opened their treasures to Him and gave Him expensive gifts.

• Gold ~ is a gift for a King.

• Frankincense ~ is a gift for a priest.

• Myrrh ~ a gift for one who would die. A perfume used in embalming.

• They listened to God & not man. They did not return to Herod but went home another way.

Wise Men:

• Read and believe God’s Word.

• Seek Jesus and keep seeking Jesus.

• Recognize the worth of Christ.

• Humble themselves to worship Jesus.

• Obey God rather than man.

Encouragement for the week: Meditate and ask God for more revelation on what being wise looks like in your life. Ask Holy Spirit to help you make wise decisions.
