Baby Jesus is the centerpiece of every manger scene. Gentle Jesus walking the dusty lanes of Israel is the image of his ministry days. Jesus on the cross has become a symbol of Christianity. These images have led people to see Jesus as vulnerable, weak, or even a victim. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The incarnation is God taking on human form for the sake of dying a heroic saving death. In the process he conquered death, defeated Satan, and won for us an eternal salvation.
