The dominion mandate is the command of God to Adam, and thus to all mankind, to take dominion over all the earth, to subdue it, and carry out the command of God. However, the dominion mandate does not justify the abuse of the land or animals. Instead, Christians are to use what God has given them in the world in a wise and mutually beneficial manner. It is found in the book of Genesis.
Adam & Eve
“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth,'” (Genesis 1:26-28).
a. This creation mandate also implies responsibilities to which mankind is bound.
As the God-appointed ruler, mankind is prohibited from abusing or wasting those aspects of Earth he controls; since creation ultimately belongs to God, misusing it would be an act of disrespect and irresponsibility.
The creation mandate says that man is sovereign over the rest of the earth, man is obligated to responsibly use what God has placed under his control, and man is expected to reproduce according to God’s intended design.
After Noah’s flood, the dominion mandate was again given by God.
Noah
“And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. 2 The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given. 3 Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant,'” (Genesis 9:1).
b. The term cultural mandate is far more flexible, implying a wider range of topics than the term creation mandate.
There are three primary versions of the idea of a cultural mandate.
The first is essentially the same as the creation mandate.
The second connects God’s command in Genesis 1:28 with Christ’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20), implying divine authority over all social and political matters.
The third places the Great Commission within the creation mandate, requiring political and social matters to be forcibly brought under Christian control.
Make Disciples of all nations
Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Issac’s Mandate
Genesis 26:1-6 There was another famine in the land in addition to the one that had occurred in Abraham’s time. And Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, at Gerar. The LORD appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt. Live in the land that I tell you about; stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you. For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring, and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky, I will give your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring, because Abraham listened to My voice and kept My mandate, My commands, My statutes, and My instructions.” So Isaac settled in Gerar.
Because of The Mandate…… Sowing in a Bad Situation Still Produced Fruit!!!!!!
Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
Children of Israel’s Mandate
Deuteronomy 11:1-8 “Therefore, love the LORD your God and always keep His mandate and His statutes, ordinances, and commands. You must understand today that it is not your children who experienced or saw the discipline of the LORD your God:
His greatness, strong hand, and outstretched arm; His signs and the works He did in Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his land; what He did to Egypt’s army, its horses and chariots, when He made the waters of the Red Sea flow over them as they pursued you, and He destroyed them completely; what He did to you in the wilderness until you reached this place; and what He did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when in the middle of the whole Israelite camp the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing with them. Your own eyes have seen every great work the LORD has done.
“Keep every command I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to cross into and possess the land you are to inherit,
Mandates Empower Us to Progress and Possess The Prophetic Declarations Over Our Lives!!!!!!
Levitical Priests Mandate
Ezekiel 44:15-16 “But the Levitical priests descended from Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the Israelites went astray from Me, will approach Me to serve Me. They will stand before Me to offer Me fat and blood.” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD. “They are the ones who may enter My sanctuary and draw near to My table to serve Me. They will keep My mandate.
A Mandate Holds Everything Together When Everyone Else Decides to Be Loose!!!!!!!
God uses the Mandate to regulate Proximity and Purposes in the Degrees of the Presence of God!!!
Disciple’s Mandate for Proximity and Purpose
John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
A “Mandate” is translated as a “Charge” in different bible translations!
Apostle Paul’s Apostolic Charge to Timothy and the Body of Christ!!!
2 Timothy 4:1–5 NKJV
I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
The Mannerism of the Mandate
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father,” (Colossians 3:17).
“Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen,” (1 Peter 4:11).
The Activator of the Mandate
Job 22:26–28 NKJV
For then you will have your delight in the Almighty, And lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, And you will pay your vows. You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.
Amazing Church Mandate
1. I Will Not Give to God Anything that Doesn’t Cost Me
2 Samuel 24:24–25 NKJV
Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.
2. True worship begins when the mouth stops and the heart starts!
Matthew 15:8–9 NKJV
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
Ephesians 5:19 NKJV
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
3. Redeeming Lost Time
Ephesians 5:16–18 NKJV
redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
Joshua Recovered and Created Time!!!!!
Joshua 10:11–14 NKJV
And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
