Seed

The means of propagating life from one generation to another. Figuratively, the term illustrates principles of spiritual life and growth, especially in later parts of the OT and throughout the NT.

How seed was used

Seed for eating Ge 1:29; 42:1-2; Ne 5:1-2; Isa 28:28; Ecc 11:6

Genesis 1:29 KJV
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Genesis: An Introduction and Commentary The Sixth Day (1:24–31)

29, 30. The assigning of every green plant for food (RSV) to all creatures must not be pressed to mean that all were once herbivorous, any more than to mean that all plants were equally edible to all. It is a generalization, that directly or indirectly all life depends on vegetation, and the concern of the verse is to show that all are fed from God’s hand
