A Fresh Start

Mark 3 1-6

“And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil?

to save life, or to kill?

But they held their peace.

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand.

And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.”

A fresh start

On a natural sense we are beginning a fresh start from on year to another.

A fresh start on our watch from one hour to another, A fresh start on our week from one week to another, and a fresh start on our calender from one year to another.My brothers and sisters it would not make sense for all these to have a fresh start and God keep us in the same situations that we've been in the last year.

He's getting ready to give you a new start.

Growing up I loved to play the football game Madden on the PlayStation Don't tell nobody but occasionally in my free-time I may play.

However.

The good thing I like about the game is that when fame get to be to hard or difficult and or out of hand You can press the reset button and start from there

I came to talk to some people who has to deal with some things in 2022, it Got chaotic in 22 However God is about to the hit the reset button in your life.

I'm a firm believer that God does not intend for us to be in the same trials.

The same problems, having the same issues year after year after year.

I don't believe we should be dealing with the same issues we dear with in 2019.

I know 22 may have dealt you a difficult hand but you Have to make up in your mind that you’re not going to allow what happens last year, last month or even on yesterday stop you from getting what God has in store for you in 2023

Look at somebody and say your getting ready to get a fresh start.

Fresh Start from weeping to joy

Fresh Start from turmoil to piece.

From worry to trust.

A fresh start requires us to change our mindset.

We have to prepare our minds for what God has in store for us within the next couple of months.

Because the truth of the matter is everyday requires us to shift our mindset and our spirit to prepare for what the devil is going throw our way.

A few years ago I stop making resolutions.

If you do that's great but I've leaned about myself is that no matter how many resolutions I made with.my

mouth if my spirit was not agreeing to with the resolution by the middle of January I'll forget.

I started making up my mind.

My brothers and sisters many of us can take a glance at 22 and say that we have not had to deal with anything.

We can say that we haven't had to cry any tears, suffered from any pain and all 365 days brought us bright days and sunny flowers.

However, for most of us we can look at 22 and say there was some issues that you had to overcome some trials that you had to endure.

Some troubles that you had to face.

Some situations that you need to God to set the reset button on.

We can look back and say if it had not been for the Lord on my side I would have gave up.

I would have gave in but it was because his grace and his mercy that you were not consumed.

I've heard someone say, if I've never been sick.

I wouldn't know God to be a healer, If I've never had a problem I wouldn't know God to be a problem solver.

Somethings that happened to you in 22 didn't happen to you but it happened for you.

So that God could prove who he really is in your life and prepare you for the shift.

What was meant to destroy you only made you stronger.

What was meant to kill you was preparing you for the a fresh start.

As we get to the text we find a man.... Sitting in the temple who had a withered hand.

The bible didn't say that this man was born ith this condition.

So it could have been and incident that happened or a tragic event that I occurred that allowed this man to catch this ailment.

His normal became abnormal.

He was accustomed to functioning with both hands.

However, this man did not let his condition be his conclusion.

It was evident that this man had an issue.

Because everywhere he went people will look at his hand.

He was at a disadvantage from everyone else.

When everyone else could use both arms he could only use one.

He was limited to what he could do.

He had to learn, be comfortable with the uncomfortable.

This one hand although it was one of the smallest limbs of his body affected his entire way of life.

2—— It was stated in Hebrews that this man was Mason a d that he once made a living using his hands.

However, this particular limb was powerless, it was not able to function.

It was slowly day by day withering and not useful.

The right hand is what most people use.

It's common and 90 percent of people are right handed.

I know we have some left handed people in the room.

But if he was right handed.

Basic function are taken away.

You cannot right.

You cannot lift.

The thing that was abled him to make resources was the thing that was now taken away from him.

The right hand is also is also the hand of strength and power.

In biblical references the right hand as a representative of authority.

So the enemy did not just attack any part of his body.

However, it attacked the part of his body that represented his power.

The enemy will not attack what is kit attached to your power and strength.

The areas in your life that is most powerful now becomes a target to the enemy.

That's what happened in 21 you have a powerful marriage that's why the enemy attacked.

You have a powerful ministry that's why the enemy attacked.

You have a powerful family that's why he attacked.

You have a powerful position on your job.

That's why the enemy attack.

However, I came to encourage someone that the attack didn't destroy you.

You still made it out even while withered.

You still made it to the house of God, even while withered

--Pause---

Even though the Man was Hindered….He was in the synagogue

However, do I have anyone that can agree with me to the point that I'm not here because I'm perfect and have everything figured out but I'm here because I'm withered.

Can I just tell you that you are in the right place at the right time for a fresh start.

When Jesus healed this man he gave him a fresh start.

He shifted his entire life in one moment.

A fresh start from dependence to independence

From abnormality to normalized.

From misery to joy.

From chaos to peace.

Often times when Jesus provided a healing there were two types of people in the room, or the church.

There was the one who came in expecting a healing and deliverance and there was the ones who came in looking to condemn.

But I believe I have some people in the church.

That's like this man who came in the withered and you made up in your mind that I refused to live 23 like I did in 22.

I need a something different I need a fresh start.
