This Week’s Theme: Serve the Creator!
This Week’s Word is God: The Creator and Redeemer of the world, who reveals himself in Scripture and in Jesus Christ, and who is loved, worshipped and adored by believers. Scripture stresses the personal nature of God, and also his total reliability and trustworthiness. God is the Father of Jesus Christ and of all believers.
Memory Verse: Hebrews 1:10 “10 And: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.”
Essence of the Text in a Sentence: Moses revealed that God created the heavens and earth in the beginning of time.
Sermon Proposition: Christians are called to serve God by standing on the truth that He created the heavens and earth.
Sermon Objective: I want those in attendance to stand on the absolute truths communicated in the Word of God by living in honor to the Creator God.
Sermon Text: Genesis 1:1-2
Genesis 1:1–2 NKJV
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

SANCTIFY YOURSELF BEFORE HIM

STAND IN AWE

6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

SHUT YOUR MOUTH

Job 38:1–13 NKJV
1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: 2 “Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? 3 Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. 5 Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? 6 To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; 9 When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; 10 When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; 11 When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’ 12 “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, 13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
Job 40:3–5 NKJV
3 Then Job answered the Lord and said: 4 “Behold, I am vile; What shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth. 5 Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
