This Coming year we are going to do something a little different on Wednesdays. As we continue to walk through the gospel on Sundays. In prayer I felt that Wednesdays should be about practical christian life and struggles issues. With much prayer We will be tackling issues that are found in our home, live, church, culture, and world views that are taking us away from what God has called us to take hold of.
This year are Wednesday motto will be
Colossians 3:16–17 (ESV)
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
We are taking hot topics of the time and walking through scripture to find the solutions that God has set.
How many times are we looking in scripture to help find answered to what you are facing, how many time are we struggling and the last thing you think about is
we live in a time where so many Christians believe in things that are ether not scripture or is warned about in scripture.
Karma
Horoscopes
Treat people how they treat you
gossip
Revenge
These ideas run rampet in the church because we have not pushed the importance of reading, and UNDERSTANDING scripture.
according to a life way poll 32 percent of Church goers read the bible
51% of Christians claim to have a Biblical world view
9% hold them to a christian world view
72% argue that people are basically good
66% say that ‘having faith’ matters more than which faith you pursue
64% say that all religious faiths are of equal value
58% believe that if a person is good enough, or does enough good things, they can earn their way into Heaven
57% believe in karma
These are self identified Christians.
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
This shouldn't be us. We are called to be different. and we have to help one another to get there. We have to :
Talk about the hard issues,
We have to be completely honest
we have to study and encourage others to study
We can not change our lives until we are willing to change our lives.
We have to commit our self to God so that we are truly live in his will.
We have to choose for your self who are you letting lead you.
To help help us in choosing the right way to live, we are answering the tough questions and addressing the elephants in the room.
Matthew 7:7–11 (ESV)
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Wednesdays will be days that we:
Ask the tough Questions
Seek to Find Answers
and Knock and open our hearts to receive what God has set in his world and Live by it.
