Transcript

I’ve been waking up every other night between 3-4am. I decided to read every 3rd chapter in the bible. After I read 1 Samuel 3 the next day, Pastor Bryant’s sermon was from 1 Samuel. I decided to study it out and ask the Holy Spirit to teach me what word is He bringing me through this passage.

The words I heard the most was answering the call. What was the call? To step out on Faith and leave the job.
Calling - God is summoning people
Synopsis
God’s summoning of individuals and people to himself, so that they will belong to him and serve him in his world. The calling of a believer may involve a specific place, task or vocation in life.
I am called to Intercession
Few respond positively to God’s call
Mt 22:14
Matthew 22:14 (LEB) — 14 For many are called but few are chosen.”
See also Is 65:12; Is 66:4; Je 7:13; Je 35:17; Mt 22:2–10
Isaiah 65:12 (LEB) — 12 and I will remit you to the sword, and all of you shall bow down to the slaughter, because I called, but you did not answer; I spoke, but you did not listen, but you did the evil in my eyes, and you chose that in which I do not delight.”
Is there an area of my life that God has called and I didn’t answer?
Consistency
I repent and I ask Holy Spirit to help me be consistent
Jeremiah 7:13 (LEB) — 13 And now, because of your doing all these things,” declares Yahweh, “and I have spoken to you over and over again, and you have not listened, and I called you, and you have not answered,
KJV says I spake unto you rising up early
Morning time is a perfect time for meditation - I want to be more consistent in this area as well
I feel God is telling me He has instructed me to be more consistent in prayer and I have not obeyed
I repent of my inconsistency
God called particular individuals to do specific tasks at specific times
Abraham:
Heb 11:8
Hebrews 11:8 (LEB) — 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to a place that he was going to receive for an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
I stepped out on Faith for the ministry full time, like Abraham, not knowing where I am going
I asked God to lead me by his Spirit step by step
I am learning self care is spiritual. My first week I was running around and the next week I felt guilty to sleep in. God was telling me to listen to him. To allow His spirit to lead me and not trying to force it to happen
Is 6:8 Isaiah
Isaiah 6:8 (LEB) — 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “I am here! Send me!”
Send me Jesus
I have a hunger for God to lead me for the sake of the Kingdom
Je 1:4–5 Jeremiah; Ho 1:2 Hosea; Am 7:15 Amos
Jeremiah 1:4–5 (LEB) — 4 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you came out from the womb I consecrated you; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
I have been appointed an intercessor to the Entertainment industry
I have been appointed an intercessor to Jamal Bryant
Amos 7:15 (LEB) — 15 And Yahweh took me from following behind the sheep and goats and Yahweh said to me, “Go, prophesy to my people Israel!
God took Eunice from Home Depot and said Go, intercede for my people
God called a people, Israel, to serve him in a special way
Is 43:1
Isaiah 43:1 (LEB) — 1 But now thus says Yahweh, he who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel: “You must not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine.
I have been called by God
He knows my name
It’s personal
The believer’s place in life is understood to be a calling
1 Co 7:17
1 Corinthians 7:17 (LEB) — 17 But to each one as the Lord has apportioned. As God has called each one, thus let him live—and thus I order in all the churches.
Let me live in the top 3 of my calling
Am I living in intercession?
Am I living in discernment?
Am I living in teaching?
See also 1 Co 7:20; 1 Co 7:24
1 Corinthians 7:20 (LEB) — 20 Each one in the calling in which he was called—in this he should remain.
Few people respond positively to the calling of God
I feel initially I didn’t respond positively because of my inconsistency
The importance of listening
Nature of knowing God
Nature of knowing God
Synopsis
To know God is not merely to know things about him, such as his character, but also to experience his presence and power. To know God is to be transformed by him. Human knowledge of God is as a result of God’s revelation of himself.

Knowing God depends on revelation
Ro 11:33–36
Romans 11:33–36 (LEB) — 33 Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how incomprehensible are his ways! 34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? 35 Or who has given in advance to him, and it will be paid back to him?” 36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory for eternity! Amen.

Matthew 11:25–27 (LEB) — 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to young children. 26 Yes, Father, for to do so was your gracious will. 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wants to reveal him.
