We recently started corporate prayer in Edgewood on Saturday mornings then we go soul winning in Edgewood.
Its exciting to see the body maturing and growing in Edgewood these things don’t happen by osmosis. But its the prayers of the saints working in the hearts and minds of His church.
You see unity and bodylife. Hearts being stirred up for the work of the ministry.
Psalm 145:16 NKJV
16 You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.
I love this verse because it shows how effortlessly God provides for His creation.
It shows who free He is with His provisions
It shows how willing He is to provide for every living creature.
Also it reveals the stores of grace for every living thing.
Imagine how much toil and work and time it goes into maintaining your life style. Raising your kids
But with Gods open hand theres no exertion no exhaustion .
The Scriptures tell us to pray without ceasing.
Come to throne of grace boldly
Be anxious for nothing but in everything in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving and let your request be known to God.
But allot of times in our prayer life we think Gods hand is closed.
Because we think Gods hand is closed we just don’ t pray.
Or we try to manipulate God to get what we want.
We will pray oath to try to get what we want
We will leverage our relationship to get God to move in any given situation. Like Martha and Mary sending for Jesus and He waited 3 more days
This is our attempt to try to pry Gods hand open because we think its closed.
But we forget Romans 8:32 “32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
- We come to God timidly almost as if we are not expecting God to answer our prayers.
Gods desire is to answer our prayers. He’s not heavy handed with you and His hand is not closed.
Gods provision in our prayer life is that we abide in HIm.
John 15:7 “7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
Its interesting with forgiveness God didn’t just open His hand but He sent His only begotten Son. It wasn’t this easy process. But it involved great sacrifice. The sacrifice of The Son of God.
Prayer can be difficult. The reason prayer can be difficult is because we come to God with the idea that His hand is close.
God giving us His Holy Spirit shows that His hand is open.
God giving us His word shows that His hand is open
God giving us His church shows His hand is open
God giving us family’s each other shows that His hand is open.
Since we started the church in Edgewood. We’ve seen the open hand of God.
