FOCUS (the core of the content to be communicated)
Have you ever tried making an omelet without any eggs?
Or driving a car without an engine?
Or flying in an airplane that had no wings?
Or enjoying an orchestra concert without a score or conductor, any musicians, or instruments?
Something tells me the answer to all those questions rhymes with snow :-) …
The goal of today’s message is to be sure we aren’t just going through the motions of a holiday, but actually celebrating a holy day commemorating the birth of the Christ of Christmas.
There’s a difference words can’t describe between the trappings of the season & the triumph of the Savior.
If there’s not yet been a transforming reception on your part of the eternal life giving message addressed to you in the Christmas story, may this year be the year that brings you into a relationship that is far beyond just an awareness of the One who came to save & set you free.
Jesus Christ was, is & will always be the Lamb of God.
Jesus Christ …
1. was God incarnate born in Bethlehem.
It was in that city that God took His first breath as one of us.
- Micah 5:2 / Luke 2:4-15
2. came to earth to save, rescue, forgive & heal you.
Jesus was deployed into enemy territory to bring home all the prisoners of war.
Acts 4:8-12 / Colossians 1:13 / Colossians 1:14 / Isaiah 53:5 & 1 Peter 2:24
Making It Real
1] Are you totally convinced that Jesus Christ is the, not an, incarnation of God?
2] Do you know for certain that God has saved, rescued, forgiven & healed you?
Action Step
If you are not sure you have been saved from your sin, your death & your grave,
today is the day to receive the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus the Lord.
