I. The Insufficiency of the Law vs. 11-12

A. The Levitical priesthood and Mosaic law insufficient. All they did was point to the fact that we don’t match up.
B. The law made no one perfect, and therefore saved no one. It couldn’t do it…it is impossible!
C. The priesthood was all physical, it had nothing to do with character or being close to Yahweh. It only had to do with the right linage, and physical stature. (142 reasons to physical disqualify someone for priesthood) “The law couldn’t bring man to God, because the law brought to a man to an awareness of physical limitations”- Jimmy Draper

II. The Sufficiency of Christ vs. 13-17

A. Jesus changed all of that by being sufficient in and of Himself. Rom. 6:10-11
Romans 6:10–11 NASB95
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
B. Jesus not only fulfilled the law, but He replaced the priesthood and law, with the Melchizedekian priesthood, and the New Covenant (Grace)!

III. The Comparison vs. 18-22

A. When you compare the two, the law only binds and makes prisoners, while Jesus sets free, loves us, makes us perfect (sanctifies us), and....
B. Jesus sees it to completion. He not only gives us the New Covenant. He enables us to live by the New Covenant. It isn’t on us anymore! Phil. 1:6
Philippians 1:6 NASB95
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
