We have already seen that the Pharisees honor God with their lips but their hearts are far from him
This is the truth of all religions
They major on the rituals rather than the morals (अनुष्ठान र संस्कार)

Hypocrisy Revealed (देखावटी र धूर्तता वा पाखण्डी) 6-13

Give greater weight to the traditions of man than the laws of God
E.G. Washing rituals and sabbath laws
God gave his ten commandments that deal with men’s hearts and the rituals are to help guide us in living a life in accordance with the law
Using the law for personal benefit rather than pleasing God
Abandon one law that brings humility to follow another that brings prosperity (pick and choose which brings benefit)
God’s Word no longer has any effect but many have become hypocrits and proud

Truth of Man Revealed (14-23)

The law’s purpose is not to purify us but to reveal the sin that is in every one of us (Romans 7:1-13)
No amount of religious behavior can make us holy before God
Unclean foods go in and come out but the sins of our heart remain with us
We are defiled because of our sinful hearts
We need to be pruified by the blood of a lamb
Psalms 51 David asks God for cleansing from the sins of his heart
