Welcome & Prayer
On behalf of Clay & Rachel, on behalf of the Finkelstein family, I am Luke & my wife Jane, Clay’s mother, we thank you for coming. At this time, and I am talking about family before tomorrow night, if you are a part of the Finkelstein family and extended family would you please stand. Introduce.
If you are part of the Love family and friends would you please stand. If you are a part of the wedding party would you please stand. Notice I did not ask Clay & Rachel to stand. Clay & Rachel, all of these people love you. All of these people are praying for your future.
Let’s pray.
Oh dear Heavenly Father, we praise your name this day for your goodness. Lord, we thank you for how you divinely orchestrated these two, Clay & Rachel to meet, to mesh, and to fall into matrimonial love for each other. What a gift. Lord, when I see my son and the change that Rachel brings about in his life, I know its of you. Lord, thank you for the blessed gift of our children that have now all entered adulthood and given us new families. Lord we have not lost a son, but you have given us a daughter. And we are so thankful. Rachel is such agodly young lady and comes from godly family and we say “thank you.” Lord, bless their marriage. May they make they realize that their marriage will only be its best when you are at the center. Lord, give them a great tribe. Give them family. Lord we look with great fondness to what we see you do in and through them as this two becomes one and they become stronger together than apart.
Talk:
Music speaks to my heart.
There is a song I love that Russ Taff sings that James Cleveland wrote entitled “Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me”
The first stanza of the song goes like this:
I've had my share of life's ups and downs
God's been good to me, and the downs have been few
I would guess you can say, God has blessed me
But there's never been a time in my life, he didn't bring me through.
One of the many ways God blessed me if giving me Jane in my life over 42 years ago. And God keeps blessing and blessing. The Lord at this point has given us 4 beautiful children and 6 grandchildren along with an extended family of sons and daughters through marriage.
Caboose-loved, doted on, his brother and sisters have always been close and they loved to dote on him. The center of attention-rub his head, kiss his head-Rachel loves to rub and kiss his head.
Funny-blowdart, nick name-Stink
-Clay absolutely loves family and the bonds of family. He saw as his brother and sisters moved out to college and then marriage was a struggle from going from six to three. Later, he went to a household of one.
There is another song I love-He’ss an Ontime God Yes He is. In God’s perfect timing, the Lord placed them together and he will enjoy having a wife.
He loves the traditions of family and will be front and center on the holidays and those times that family comes together. Clay is a gentile spirit. Clay loves deep and Rachel, I know my son, He loves you. I know that I know he loves you and we love you because you love our Clay. He will now be your Clay. YOu get to kiss his head and rub it.
Clay has a tremendous work ethic and son, work for your family, keep fame & fortune in check and keep the workplace in check.
R-Revere her-Love her as Christ loved the church and gave His life for her.
A-Admire and emulate great marriages that you desire
C-Cherish She is a prized gift of God-treat her as such.
H-help each other. Each of you have gifts that make you better together than apart. Eccentuate each others talents.
E-Energy
L-Lord. Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, soul, and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. If you do that you can’t go wrong.
