Pentecostal Baptism With The Holy Ghost
Introduction
There is nothing I could probably add to this subject that could be considered original thought, however I have asked Holy Spirit for this or something that He would like to emphasize in line with original thought of the Triune Council of God The Father, God The Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I am on a quest to hear, see, and with God’s help receive instruction, understanding and words to express application of all I receive from God on this very subject; The Baptism ‘in/of/with’ the Holy Spirit.
We all love Yahweh and Jesus so dearly and pledge our loyalty to them and our covenant that we have with and in THEM.
Addressing the ‘in/of/with’, we do realize that this experience is more of a mystery of God because we are experiencing simultaneously in/of/with in this wonderful present from our God; The Baptism in/of/with The Holy Spirit.
That actually is it.
Total ecstasy would best describe what is happening to the seeker- recipient of Holy Spirit Baptism.
Jesus with great joy baptizes, us as a group or an individual, into this ecstasy in Holy Spirit that has our, body, soul and spirit all involved.
There would not seem to be words to describe this ecstacy accurately.
There is a theorem, proved by the Word of God many times, the believer seeker-recipient speaks in a language not know to them while in this ecstasy.
It happens as one just surrenders their will to God and fully trust Holy Spirit.
Again there is not an accurate or adequate vocabulary in my life to put in words that conveys all that is happening.
A few words come to mind, it seems like we are filled up and overflow with the greatest peace, joy, love that seems like it is about to explode inside of us.
Words just come out that we may or may not understand.
These words just overflow us while in this ecstacy.
We feel what seems to be electrical power flow in us, out of us and all through us.
We feel energized and ready for something big that is about to happen.
Peter preached and about 3000 souls was added to the early church!
Peter was preaching Jesus in the Power of the Holy Ghost as Father Gods will was done.
May Fathers Will be done in our Churches today.
May those who hear the word being preached in Holy Ghost power see the churches added to.
May those who speak of Jesus and do what the Father is doing, may they have the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish what Jesus and Father God is doing.
Let us break the Bread of Life together at these scriptures this morning.
May Holy Spirit prepare our hearts to hear, learn and receive Gods Holy Word.
Sermon Text:
Acts 1:4–5 (ESV)
And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Matthew 3:11 (ESV)
“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Acts 2:1–13 (ESV)
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.
And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.
And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?
Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”
And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”
Even with a miraculous manifestation people still scoffed, mocked, and were filled with unbelief.
Many others however knew this was of God.
Those who believed, experienced the Day of Pentecost promise from God spoken and written down as a prophecy in the Book of Joel in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible.
Peter proclaimed this was the promise spoken in Joel.
What a wonderful day this was.
This same manifestation by Holy Spirit can and does happen today.
Many questions are in order if you are not familiar with this subject.
Some may be like these:
Can I be baptized in the Holy Spirit?
The answer is yes you can; If you are a believer in Jesus as the Son of God and have repented of your sin and rebellion against God and the things of God, You may ask Jesus to baptise you with the Holy Spirit as described in our scripture text.(
Matthew 3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” and John 1:29-34 “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’
I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.”
And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.
I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.” Oh, yes you can!! Jesus does the baptizing.
What a blessing you are about to receive from Jesus!
Can I make it stop if I get scared?
You could by saying no in your heart and ask Jesus to stop.
A better question is why would you say “No make it stop Jesus."
You are about to experience Heaven on Earth, the miracle of being a tabernacle full of the Holy Spirit overflowing your whole being, saturated in Holy Spirit.
You have become a union point of Heaven and Earth radiating Gods presence and light.
You will enjoy such deep love and power flowing through you, it will be exhilarating.
Please, don’t ask Jesus to stop baptizing you and giving you power to be witnesses to him and receiving power and authority to carry out Gods will and plan for your life in Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Trust the truth of these scriptures and many other Scriptures.
Jesus is the baptizer with the Holy Spirit.
We trust Jesus as our savior to take away our sins and make us right with Father God.
We can also extend our faith by trusting Jesus with our baptism with the Holy Spirit.
What is expected of me afterwards; after the baptism with the Holy Spirit?
Am I a super saint or someone special?
Can I still fail God?
I don’t know what to expect.
Actually you are still you.
However, you do need to be a disciple of Jesus in every way.
You will need to be surrendered to Jesus and let Holy Spirit tutor and disciple you all the wonderful days you have on Earth.
It will be the most complete your life has ever been.
There will be times in the process of discipleship you completely miss the intended mark and fail your lesson in life with God.
Once you repent , acknowledge your sin or rebellion to what Holy Spirit was teaching you or if fallen to sinful action, God will keep His covenant with you always and will direct your path again.
Holy Spirit will continue tutoring and discipling you to the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.
Faith in the work of the Cross by Jesus is essential to being a disciple.
So as long as you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and pledge your loyalty to Jesus, Father God, and follow Holy Spirit; you are a son or daughter of God and partaker of our covenant with Jesus.
You are our brother or sister in the Faith of Jesus our Messiah.
We make up part of the Body of Jesus Christ, The Church.
Advice.
Read The Gospel of John, then the Acts of the Apostles, in your Bible.
John shares the intimacy of Jesus’ teachings and the love of the Father and Jesus, with us, the very words of Jesus.
Acts gives us a quick lesson and history of the disciples flowing in the Holy Spirit.
As well as a couple more examples of Jesus baptizing Gentile believers with the Holy Spirit.
After reading Jesus’ promise of sending the Holy Spirit, you may gain a whole new appreciation of the Gods wonderful present of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.
It is scriptural and needed in the Church today.
What is walking in the Spirit?.
It is much easier once you are baptised with the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit seems to overflow out of you.
You no longer strive to be good to produce good works, but rather you FLOW in the Spirit, as you minister to other people needing to feel and sense the Holy Spirit's presence inside of you.
When does the Power and Authority just seem to flow?
It happens when you are in tune with Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
