Introduction
thank you for allowing us to see another year
gather in your name
we thank you for being present this morning
we invite your involvement in the discussion and conversation
Give us ears to hear what you are saying
open our hearts and minds to receive from you
Continue along the same lines what Bishop started
subject of faith
So the topic today will be FACING IMPOSSIBILITY
the discussion on this he really Facing Impossibility late NOV
Angel telling Mary in Luke 1:37 “37 For nothing will be impossible with God.””
First thing was gospel music songs that are based on
Matthew 19:26 Mark 10:27 “27 Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.””
I thought this was a broad topic
sentiment echoed throughout the Bible
The Bible is full of things that we Men think of as being Impossible
creating Man from the dust of the Earth, Parting the Red Sea, protecting Daniel in the Lions Den, and Shadrach from the fire
The Ministry of Jesus was also full of impossible things to men
walking on Water, healing the sick, giving sight to blind, feeding 5,000
The bible is clear
GOD that is not affected by this world he affects the world
Why? because he exists outside of it
An unbeliever thinks those things are impossible
sometimes there is a gap between what we read in scripture from what we actually believe in real life
What are some things that can happen to anyone that we might put in the impossible category?
The diagnosis
bills are due we have no money
COVID
Jobs, career moves
In any of these cases they are unknown to us
the thing that is dangerous for us
dealing with the unknown doubt fear or disbelief can enter the heart
The question is do you do when facing something that is seemingly Impossible?
You might know scripture
when life Happens what are the steps do you take?
I have four principles that I wanted to talk about
Stick to what you know to be true about God
what you say to the Impossibility is very Important
has to be the words of God that you already know
Luke 4:3-4 “3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
4 And Jesus answered him, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’
””
What if you don’t know much scripture?
You know God is good and the Devil is not
And you know God cares and you know God is love
saying those things to yourself will put you in a flow of victory
here is the principle
What comes out your mouth is important
Proverbs 18:21 “21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
this principle is about watching comes out of your mouth
The same principle includes prayer
I’ve never been in a situation that threatened my life
But I’ve been in many bad situations that I thought was impossible to get out of
My Job as a contractor on the BASE
I thought it was impossible for me to get a more stable job
When I stopped saying that, things changed
Psalm 1:1-3 “1 Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2 But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, And on His Law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.”
Don’t focus on what you don’t know
why? nothing times nothing equals nothing
So when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness
what if he said you know what I am hungry?
that would have resulted in NO VICTORY
Its self defeating to focus on the temporary situation
Never speak to the situation according to what it may look like
2 Corinthians 5:7 “7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—”
when you say yeah satan, I am hungry.
don’t know when I will eat next
Never say those things to yourself either
In my Gov Contractor Job as long as I continued saying
I will never get the job or it won’t get better
I would have never got out of the situation
Here is what you should be doing
The only time to speak about the details that you don’t know
Is when you Pray
Hold that up what you don’t know to the Lord in prayer
I didn’t know if God was going to say yes
to a better job at all
It was totally up to God
Talk about the name it claim it receive it teachings from some churches
I won’t advocate that teaching
it is antithetical to the true gospel message
Never say those things to yourself either r request Yes not Yet or No
Would anyone like to share an experience they’ve had?
Memorize scripture
speak scriptures that speak to your identity in Christ
that speak to your desired reality
You are not alone
we have been given the word and been given his spirit
Ephesians 2:10 “10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
Confess that scripture You are God’s best work of Art
God doesn’t make failures or junk
you were created to destroy the works of the enemy
Philippians 2:13 “13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to desire and to work for His good pleasure.”
This outcome is possible not through human effort but because God indwells you and is working in you
Christians must allowing God to work through them
you may not know what’s going on all the time but you know
when you pray this you are effectively praying from heaven to Earth
praying from your position in Christ
Galatians 1:4 “4 who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,”
