MOTION SICKNESS

About 6 mouths ago I stared to ask the question “Why are we not seeing growth at Emmanuel?”

That question lead me to ask “Is it me?”

So I stared to pray Father if I’m the reason reveal it to me.

He answered Yes. You are going through the motion each week but your not truly leading.

Let me explan.

Today is a restart. We are going to make our path stright.

Nehemiah 4:10–14 CSB

In Judah, it was said: The strength of the laborer fails, since there is so much rubble. We will never be able to rebuild the wall. And our enemies said, “They won’t realize it until we’re among them and can kill them and stop the work.” When the Jews who lived nearby arrived, they said to us time and again, “Everywhere you turn, they attack us.” So I stationed people behind the lowest sections of the wall, at the vulnerable areas. I stationed them by families with their swords, spears, and bows. After I made an inspection, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the great and awe-inspiring Lord, and fight for your countrymen, your sons and daughters, your wives and homes.”

26 days in they were discouraged

Nehemiah refocused they to the task at hand asign new role for some as he encouraged.

Nehemiah reminded they who they served and told them to fight!

Nehemiah 6:15–16 CSB

The wall was completed in fifty-two days, on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul. When all our enemies heard this, all the surrounding nations were intimidated and lost their confidence, for they realized that this task had been accomplished by our God.

The wall was finshed in 52 days. What was thought to be a losing battle was finshed in record time.

People notice God at work.

We arn’t building a wall but we are building the Kingdom.

Lets show other what God can accomplish in this church.

So how do we refocus and make our path stright?

We can look at the New Testmonment Church.

There are about 30 passage of scripture I have studed dealing with the New Testmonment Church. You will be relevied to know that I wan’t be sharing all 30 with you today.

Acts 2:46–47 CSB

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

Devoted

praising God

EVERY day the LORD add to their numbers.

So were then to we get our Guiding Principles? We look to Jesus commands for the Church.

This Jesus church so we should follow His commands.

We find these commands sumed up in 2 passages

Matthew 22:34–40 CSB

When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they came together. And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question to test him: “Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”

Matthew 28:19–20 CSB

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

TEACHING THEM TO OBEY= DISCIPLESHIP
