Welcome

Happy New Year One Hope Church
I hope you had a good Christmas and New Years Eve

Seek First

It was great to gather last night for the Seek First event.
We had 7 different Churches represented and some of you came out
It’s the first time I’ve brought the New Year in through Prayer and Worship

The New Year

And there’s no better way to start the New Year than Worshipping Jesus Together.
As we seek to be a Church for the City, Nations and Generations
Let me prayer for our time together today
Invite the Holy Spirit to come and the Presence of the Lord be upon us

Prayer

Thank you Jesus for bringing us into another year. We pray for more grace, more mercy and a greater impact in our community in the coming year.
We invite you Holy Spirit to come and be present.
Help us to Worship Jesus from our heats.
Amen.

Stand

Would you stand as we Worship Jesus through Song together.

Communion

We are going to continue to worship Jesus through the partaking of Communion.
We take communion every week here because we never want to move beyond the Cross.
In communion we are remembering Christ’s death and resurrection for us.
Mark 14:22–25 (ESV)
22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” 23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
We take the elements:
The bread/cracker representing Christ’s Body broken for us
The juice his blood spilled out on our behalf for a new convenant.
Reflect
On where our hearts may have wandered
Where we may need to confess to God or others
Where we may need to repent.
Remember
What Jesus has done for us.
That there is no sin that Jesus can’t cover by his blood
Celebrate
The death is never the end, In Christ, but resurrection always follows.
That we have both died and been raised with Christ.

For Believers

Communion is for those who have believed in Jesus death and resurrection for Him and are following Him.
If you are not a beliver, don’t feel pressure to take communion.
If you have questions or need prayer, we would love to talk to you.

Prayer

Let me pray for us, and then when you are ready you can take communion.
Prayer...

Closing

We always want to respond to what we have heard today.
I love what John said.
the Spirit is at work in our difficulty
perhaps that is when his work is most powerful
Order out of chaos -
the spirit was hovering over the waters
God brought order out of chaos by his word and spirit
Perhaps when our lives our thrown into chaos it’s a sign that the Lord is about to recreate something by His Word and Spirit.
We want to continue to respond in worship through giving and offering.

Giving

We believe everything we have was given to us by God
Giving is a way that we continue to Worship Jesus
And continue to mission of One Hope Church.
If you’re new, you’re not obligated or expected to give but invited if God is calling you to do so.
