Every Good path

Every Good Path Proverbs 2: 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, And equity; yea, every good path.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Sometimes in life it’s hard to choose Every Good Path. Every good path? Think about that. Nobody but Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us was capable of Choosing Every Good Path.

And When we make reflections about the things that has occurred in the past, most of us have a balance of good and bad pathways that we have chosen. And sometimes it just been the hand that’s been dealt to us through life’s circumstances. The bible says it rains on the just as well as the unjust because that’s life.

And so in this new year the Lord led me to inform the church that we have to be cognizant of the paths we choose. It behooves us to follow scripture especially when it says The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, And hide my commandments with thee;

2. So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, And apply thine heart to understanding;

3  Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, And liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4. If thou seekest her as silver, And searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5 .Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.

There are several facts here in the text that we can gleam from this long sentence. In the KJV of the bible we don’t see the end of the sentence until we get to the end of verse five. And so,

1. In verse 1. Solomon says My son, if thou will receive my words, This is instruction. and When God directs the conversation towards us and says My son, meaning the recipients or hearers of this proverb. If you’ll will not only be hearers of my words but doers you’ll make some real progress. We have got to be willing to receive a word from the Lord. And if a little child reads the word of God and it touches my heart, I’m going to receive it.

Tell your neighbor: you got to receive this word.

2. Then believe it or not but after you receive this word the bible says then you’ve got hide God’s commandments with thee, semicolon; The only way we know how to live holy and righteous is by God’s word. Wait nah when you’re in trouble and need real answers to whatever you’re faced with, and the devil is attacking you from every side, brothers and sisters you DON’T have time to go and check your concordance or your bible dictionary to find the answer.. No No No but when God’s word is in you, the Holy Spirit will give you the proper answer and pathway to take.

3. In verse 2 to writer tells us the reason so that you will give a listening ear to receive the wisdom of God.and then

3. You and I can apply our hearts to understanding. That’s why the scripture is so real when you hear that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Understanding is when you can take all of the book sense, and make it make sense. My grandparents would tell me save some money for the rainy day, when you’re young you just want party eat drink and be merry.But when you’re faced with grown up responsibilities, all of sudden Now them old folk knew what they were talking about, Because nowadays its more rainy days than sunshine...

4. The scripture teaches us that perhaps when we were younger we didn’t desire knowledge as a great pathway to success. When I was young I just wanted to hurry up and get out of school. I wanted my parents, teachers, coaches, and band directors to hurry up and finish talking so I could play like I wanted to. In one of the Beatitudes I preached last week the word says Blessed are those to hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. This means that we’ve got to want to be blessed to go to the next level up.

The bible says If thou criest after knowledge and if thou liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest wisdom as silver and searchest for wisdom like its a hidden treasure, Verse 5 says then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord. In other words when you’re on the right track with acquiring wisdom knowledge and understanding, then you’ll have the proper respect and reverence for the Omniscience of God. Listen to me when you’ve got respect and reverence for the Omniscience of God then you’re acknowledging that God knows everything about anything that’s known that is knowable. When we respect the Mind of God, then you’ll gladly say the Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. you’ll gladly say the Lord directs my path and keep me from all hurt harm and danger. you’ll gladly say where He leads me I will follow, because He leadeth me in path of righteousness for His name’s sake. When we have respect for God’s word verse 5 says we’ll find the knowledge of God. Period.

It’s some steps involved in this process.

Then the 5th thing I want to lift from the text is in verse 6. The Lord gives Wisdom yeah 3x . The bible says in James if any man lack wisdom let him Ask it of God. Ask God to help you. Ask God to show you the way. Ask God to direct your paths. Ask God to show you righteous living. For the Lord giveth wisdom: Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. In II Chronicles 20 the Moabites and Ammonites and Mount Seir came out against King Jehoshaphat. King Jehoshaphat said Lord our enemies are all around us. It’s got too many of them for us to beat them, but our eyes are on you Lord. The Lord’s people were afraid and the Spirit of God got a hold of Jahaziel and He began to prophecy. He said don’t be dismayed or afraid of the armies of our enemies because the Battle is not your it’s the Lord’s. And God told them stand still and see the salvation of the Lord . God said to form a choir and to sing loudly unto to the Lord these words Praise the Lord: for his mercy endureth forever and Jehoshaphat began to jump up and down and sing and shout. And a strange thing happened The enemies of Israel didn’t hear singing. It was like Mighty Mighty Armies coming against them. I know what they heard 3x They heard the heavenly language of praise the Lord for His mercy endureth forever. And that confused their minds and they turned on one another and destroyed themselves and Jehoshaphat didn’t have to fight a single man. And the spoils of war were so great until it took three days for them to carry back the treasures. Listen to me King Jehoshaphat didn’t know what to do to fight but he knew to call upon the Lord for help. He knew to seek God. And brothers and sisters We better seek out God for ourselves Jeremiah 29: 13 says And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, and when ye search for Me with your whole heart I will be found of you saith the Lord. God knows how to bless you even in the midst of your stressful situations .

God will give you answers to stuff that’s way passed your level. I know I’m right about it because Proverbs 2: 7 says “He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:” He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

The good Lord gave Israel favor when Syria warred against them. God will lay up sound wisdom for the righteous. and will be a buckler A shield of defense for those who walk uprightly. In II Kings 6 the Syrian army sent spies to Israel’s location and just when the Syrian army was getting close the Lord told Elisha go tell the the Israelites to move quickly because the Syrian Army is coming to attack and the Israelites escaped . It happened again and again God gave the Man of God Sound Wisdom and the KIng of Syria called a meeting and said I want to know who in here is spying for Israel because ain’t no way they could have escaped that many times.. Ain’t no way!! One of the servant said king it ain’t none of us but they got a prophet named Elisha down there that God informs him of everything you say and do in your bedchamber, king even what you think. They tried to get Elisha but God struck them with blindness.

Brothers and sisters the word of God says in verse 7 he layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous. God will give you the right sound judgement when you need it and God will be Like a shield that protects the innocent. And The word buckler in verse 7 means that God is going to protect those that walk uprightly before the Lord.

Tell your neighbor: Good protects the righteous

In verse 8 the bible says “ He keepeth the paths of judgment, And preserveth the way of his saints.”

Brothers and sisters just remember that God knows who is righteous and who is faking. God knows who is pious and who is perpetrating, God knows who is saintly and who is sinister, God knows who has mercy and who is mean spirited Because he keeps the paths of judgement. God is the Righteous Judge. I’m not judging nobody in here because only God is the Righteous Judge.

Lastly in verse 9 .Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, And equity; yea, every good path. Notice the word then,Then means now you understand now you get it. Then means that you’ve been through some things that only experiencing it in life! could teach you valuable lessons. Now I understand Righteousness, you can;t get to heaven without it. Now I understand Judgement, you reap what you sow. Now I understand equity I’m fair to all peoples because I know how feels to be treated unfairly.Yea yea yea

and then Lastly how to arrive on every good path. The bible says the steps of a good man/woman are ordered by the Lord. This is a big old bible and there were many who finally understood being on every good path Um um um yes

Abraham lied and said Sarah was his sister and not his wife and God straighten him out and Abraham went to become the father of many nations,

Jacob was a trickster and God change his life and changed his name to Israel.

Moses killed and Egyptian and buried him in the desert sand, ran away into the mountains and saw God in a burning bush God change his life and Moses went on to become the Deliverer of Israel fro EGYPTIAN SLAVERY. OH LORDY

And David went after Bathsheba and killed her husband and God sent the preacher to tell him about himself and David repented and said Lord Create in me a clean heart oh God renew with in me the right spirit and David went on to be the apple of God’s eye.

This is a big old bible and I can’t tell it all but I heard that up in heaven there was a cry saying who will go and whom shall I send yes You redeem mankind from their sins. um um And I heard that there was a Lamb as it had been slain before the foundations of the world that said I’ll go yes I’ll take every good path and bring mankind into a saving relationship with God. I’m so glad that Jesus took every good path to give us the right to the tree of life and

Is there anybody in here that’s going to take the Good Path of Righteousness Living and Love one another like Jesus did. Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you Oh Lord take every good path and show mercy and compassion and grace and favor and decency and The good Path of Judgement and the Good Path of Equity and treat everybody fairly.

One these old days when it’s his to call and mine to answer you’re going to look for me and I’ll be gone home to be with the Lord I’m going to do my level best to take every good path in this life. Because II want to hear the Lord say Servant Well Done.
