Romans 5:18-6:1-4
Romans 5:18-6:1-4
18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
How do you overcome condemnation?
Can you explain the difference between being sorry and feeling condemnation?
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
-We must walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh
8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
How do we sow in the spirit?
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
When we sow to the Spirit it has a cascading effect on everyone else around us
20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
When sin abounds grace abounds much more!
That gives us a hope for the future
When the world is crazy grace abounds much more
Grace is unmerited favor
Where have you seen unmerited favor in your life?
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
What does it mean to be baptized into his death?
-The old man is dead, stop trying to resurrect him!
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
What specifically has been made new in your life?
Where has your spiritual Change become physical?
