Dare To Pray

Intro

Good Morning! Today we are beginning our week of prayer. Now as you all entered this morning you were handed these cards with a list of things to pray for over the next 7 days. these items are a list of things that churches all over the world are praying for. So when you and I pray this week. we are not just praying in a vacuum. We are linking arms with our brothers and sisters all over this nation and this world to agree upon these 7 items that we want to see God do in our churches this year.

Matthew 7:7–9 ESV

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

Dare to Pray?

There are are many reasons why God wouldn’t answer prayer.

Not his will

Not his timing

You are and I are walking in disobedience.

But I think the single biggest reason we see prayer go unanswered is because we see prayers go unasked

God doesn’t doesn’t answer my prayers. Really? When did you last pray? When did you last seek Him? When did last Abide in His Word?

When was the last time you and I offered up more than a casual “god fix fix this” prayer?

Dare to Light a Fire

When our prayers are cold, there is no power.

We wonder why the dead are not raised. How can expect the dead be raised when our prayer lives are so cold?

There is most certainly a reason God told Elijah Pray. There is power in Prayer. Elijah prayed and the rain stopped.

It was the upper room, when “prayer,” not preaching, not worship. not a good book. but prayer brought heaven to earth.

It was through prayer that the Jesus raised the dead, healed the sick, and cast out the demons.

It was in prayer that the earth shook.

There is power in prayer. But not anemic prayer. Not hollow prayer. not shallow prayer. There is power in Christ sanctified blood bought, soul wrenched, Holy Spirit empowered Prayer.

You don’t pray that way naturally. even if you follow Jesus. You won’t naturally pray that way. You must be taught to pray that way. Taught by the Holy Spirit. Set on Fire by the lord of Heaven. Then when you pray. Hell will shake.

Dare to Pray Like Jesus

It is time that we allow the Holy Spirit to teach us, to Pray like Jesus.

Praying like Jesus will cost you everything.

You cannot keep your life, and expect to pray like Jesus.

Now hear me loud and clear. What you gain is far greater than what you give up.

You mean I can’t have it my way? and pray like Jesus. No. This isn’t burger king. If you want it it your way you are at the wrong place.

Here is the reality. If you spend more time complaining than praying, don’t expect to receive anything from God.

Dare To Make 2023 Unlike Any Other

We are beginning a week of prayer, and I believe God is calling you and me, deeper into prayer this year.

The Prayer meeting on Wednesday nights is the most important thing we do as a church. It should be the most attended meeting, but it is the least. Now hear we have a solid crowd. We are blessed in this church with many prayer warriors, but God is calling us deeper.

Why isn’t God God moving? Why isn’t He answering My prayers? Why do we expect Him to carry the weight of our failed prayer lives?

Perhaps God would take our prayers more seriously if we took them more seriously?

I know you want God to move, who wouldn’t? the question is? are you ready to Journey in prayer with Jesus this year?
