To understand our place in the Church we need to think, reflect on His Word and pray about who we are now as believers.
In the midst of that we need to consider: 1.here did we come from? 2. Where do we belong now? 3. What our future holds?
Where did we come from.
I think John best describes our condition. John is very black and white, uncomfortably so. He simply says where ever Christ does not rule rule the evil one does.
1John 5:19 “We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”
Note that this needs to be contrasted in light of 1 John 2:2 “and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.”
