What is Cadence:
a modulation in reading aloud as implied by the structure and ordering of words and phrases in written text.

Have You Ever Heard Something Off Beat?

When we hear it, we can not un hear it
It could just be the tiniest bit off and your hears know it
When I was a young boy I could never clap on beat at Church

Whether our rhythm is orderly, or chaotic, there’s still a rhythm

Right or wrong, there is a rhythm

One of the first places we see a Rhythm is in Creation

When God created he was in a groove
Genesis 1:1 NIV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

God entered into a beautiful Cadence

And He carried on
Genesis 1:3–5 NIV
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

God Started by taking the Light and separated it from the Darkness

This gave order and you might say a cadence, it gave sunset and sunrises

A lot can happen in a day

Things will always happen that are not in our control no matter how hard you try to keep things the same

Chaos will always interrupt the order of our day

God’s Eye View

God broke up the creation process into days, there was a rhythm to it
Genesis 1:14 NIV
And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,
He used the sun and the stars to map out the rhythm of the days, weeks, months, seasons, and years.
God also gave markers so that give notice to the changes, leaves, things turning green, the sunrise the sunset, and we find beauty in all of it.
Beautiful sunsets, paintings

When we fall out of God’s rhythm

God designed us to be in a rhythm to have a cadence
Even our sleep has been given a rhythm
Researchers found that a week of winter camping reset the body’s “clock” to be more in tune with nature’s light-and-dark cycle. The result was longer sleep.
The findings, the study authors said, add to evidence that time in the sun and the dark helps people get to sleep at a decent hour.
The study also highlights how modern living — so heavy on artificial light — may thwart our sleep.
“It’s clear that modern environments do influence our circadian rhythms,” said Kenneth Wright, the study’s senior researcher.
Circadian rhythms refer to the shifts in the body’s biological processes that happen over 24 hours, partly in response to light and darkness.
But while our ancestors may have gone to bed early and risen with the sun, that’s not true today, said Wright, a professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Many people get little outdoor time during the day, then stay up late — eyes trained to artificial light from glowing computer, phone and TV screens.
In a 2013 study, Wright’s team found that a week of summer camping — with no smartphones — reset people’s internal clocks to be in rhythm with nature’s.
The first fall chaos rhythm
Genesis 3:1–6 NIV
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

We Have to Make Sure That We get back into God’s Rhythm

When we become Christians we are to strive to have a heart that desires God
We are to grow to love God
how do we do that?

Prayer

We need to be spending time talking to God.
how can we be growing in our relationship if we are not talking to God

Study the Word

Spend time in the Word
So much of our day is taken up
Watching Tv
work
family
games
and so on
If we are not spending time studying the Bible, how can we expect to know who God is, and His heart?
Reading books about God is good, but it does not replace spending time in His word.
