“ THE LAW OF 3:16”

Questions: Where did I come from? Who am I?
My name is David Hollowell, 57 years old, married for 38 years to my high school sweetheart, 3 healthy children, 6 grandchildren, servant of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a minister of the GOSPEL. Welcome to this first installment of L.I.F.E.W.O.R.D. TODAY. I Just want to take about 15 minutes or so, and hopefully challenge and encourage you for the start of this New Year. The holidays are over, and many of us have gotten back into our work and everyday activites. I personally wanted to add a few activities to each day this year. I want to do a better job of telling people about Jesus Christ, what he has done for me, and what He wants to do with you. Why should you care? Well, this may be a hard pill to swallow for some, but ......
“You and I are personally involved in, AND included in, God’s PLAN for MAN (MANKIND).”
Gen 1:1-5
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:26–28 (KJV 1900)
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
This year, I would like to invite you to Join me on a Journey through the Word of God, and the Life of Jesus Christ, from the L.I.F.E.W.O.R.D, THE BIBLE.
I like to use acronyms to help me remember the important words, but more specifically the WORD. That is why I titled this adventure the way I did.
Living In Fellowship Everyday by the Word Of Revelation Divine! We will break that down another time, but for now, our January Journey will take us through the first book of the Bible, Genesis. May I start off by saying that this will not be a verse by verse study, but rather a Survey and Highlights of the books of the Bible. I will attempt to cover the first 10 chapters of Genesis on, L.I.F.E.W.O.R.D.TODAY, keeping it under 30 minutes in each of our Sunday Sermons, and post it for your viewing at your convenience. I will invite you to join me in this Journey through Genesis, The Book of Beginnings, and ask you to read ahead with me, so that you can take notes and hopefully get questions answered that you may have as you read. In your daily quiet time today, if you don’t already have a Bible Reading Plan, I would encourage you to start at the Beginning with Genesis 1 and read through chapter 10. I will also encourage you to start a daily Bible Study Journal to record your thoughts, questions, and prayers so that you can look back to it from time to time, and see what God has been doing in your life. It is of the greatest encouragement to me to keep such a journal, as it renews my faith from day to day and brings me closer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So, lets “Begin at the Beginning”!
WHY TODAY, WHY NOW?
I would like to bullet point for you the WHY , this study.
My personal conviction is that MOST PEOPLE AROUND US IN OUR WORLD OF INFLUENCE DO NOT KNOW THE TRUTH OF THE BIBLE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT HEARD IT. SECONDLY, THE REASON IS, THAT THOSE THAT CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIAN, GO TO CHURCH, SING IN THE CHOIR, OWN A BIBLE OR 2 ......DONT’KNOW IT, BECAUSE THEY DON’T READ IT, .... HAVE NOT EVERY SHARED JESUS CHRIST WITH THEM! I also believe that some “believers” go there entire life without sharing the Gospel, which begs the question, are they POSESSORS OF ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST, OR ARE THE ONLY PROFESSERS?
Maybe you have heard someone say this about Americans, “ They are not GOSPEL IGNORANT, THE ARE GOSPEL HARDENED.” While that may be true for some people, because they see the messages on the signs at every corner where there is a Church, or they hear on on the radio, or run into a church or a preacher on the Internet. Maybe they have seen on the news another religious phony or a church scandal, and be numb to the invitation to come to church or to christianity. They may be hardened to some extent.
However, I believe , that the reason that very few ever listen to the Preacher , Teacher, Evangelist, or Christian Neighbor , when the subject of Chrisitanity comes up is... THAT MOST WHO CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS ARE GOSPEL IGNORANT THEMSELVES! If they truly knew what the Bible says about Creation, LIfe, Death, Sin, Salvation, Judgment, THEN THEY WOULD TELL SOMEBODY! That is a bold statement I know, but the Holy Scripture bears it out.
I interjected my personal opinions in these first few bullet points mainly because of what I ran across today at a local fast food place. I was there of course to pick up a quick breakfast, but also, I wanted to survey the room and see if the Lord would draw something or someone to my attention. And He did. Three men, that looked unrelated , about the same age, drinking coffee together. I simply walked up and asked them if they had the world problems all solved by their meeting. They simple chuckled and said, “ Oh no, we could’nt possibly begin to do that, we were just discussing our own problems. As the light discussion went on, I discovered that the three men at the table were all “church attenders”. One was a Baptist, one was a Catholic, and the other a Methodist. No, there is not a joke coming on , that is really true. Why did that catch me wrong? Because they jokingly said, that “they could not help anyone”. How sad! They all affirmed that they all believed the same God, yet they could’’nt help anyone? Is that the way most “Christians” feel? Can you help anyone? Do you have the knowledge, wisdom and courage to tell anyone about God’s PLAN for man? HE IS THE ANSWER.......NO MATTER WHAT THE PROBLEM! Should’nt they have known that? I guess I was wrong in assuming that they might just be planning a prayer meeting or an evangelistic crusade, or at least how they were going to share the gospel with there family, neighbors. etc. Am I the only one who thinks this way?
“THE BIBLE, IS GOD’S WRITTEN REVELATION OF HIS WILL, HIS WAYS, IN HIS WORD, WITH HIS WORDS, TO MANKIND. It contains God’s P.L.A.N. for Man, Jesus Christ, P.rince of Peace, L.ord of Lords, A.lmighty God, N.ame above every name, and EVERYTHING that we need to KNOW HIM, HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM, AND PERFECT FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM, FOREVER.
II Peter 1:21, For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
What is Holiness, Godliness, Righteousness?
I Tim 3:16, And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
“THE LAW OF 3:16”
WHAT IS GODLINESS? as referred to in 1 TIM 3:16 above ?
HOW CAN WE KNOW WHAT GODLINESS IS?
II TIMOTHY 3:16, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
WHY SHOULD WE CARE?
JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.THE LAW OF 3:16, Tells us that the Bible is History, rather HIS-story, it is all about Jesus, The Word of Life. He, Jesus, is God’s Word- GOD’S REVELATION TO MAN.-JOHN 1:1Jesus is Creator of LIFE -JOHN 1:3HE IS THE SOURCE OF LIFE -REV 22:1-5HE IS SUSTAINER OF LIFE-For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist), Col 1:9–17.HE IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE- JOHN 11:13-27HE IS THE BREAD OF LIFE- John 6:25-59So, in John 6:60-71
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this (VERSES PREVIOUS , JESUS SAYS HE IS THE BREAD OF LIFE), said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God
John 1:1-14- In this passage, John begins with explaining what the Gospel of John is all about, and the main character in his account, Jesus Christ.
John 20:31-This passage gives us the MAIN PURPOSE and KEY point of his writing. 30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
In John 3:16, we have the main point of the entire Word of God, it is called the G.O.S.P.E.L.

Why was this necessary?
Rom 5:12, Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 3:23
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Rom 10:10
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation
